Namaste!
First I want to start by thanking all our returning readers, and welcoming
our new readers, I hope you all walk away from this newsletter with a little
more love, peace and learning in your hearts. Not surprisingly November's
theme will be on the topic of thanks giving. To me it is very important to
give thanks and gratitude for all that we come into touch with throughout
life - both good and the bad. I will be addressing this a little more in the
article I wrote entitled "Giving Thanks for What Hurts the Most".
We also have a bunch of other impressive articles, not everything is about
thanks giving, I like to mix things up a little on occasion. Some of the articles
I think tie in well with the theme just the same. I'd like to encourage everyone
to check out the links after all the articles to the respective authors' websites.
There is always a wealth of information to be found at these sites and much
learning to be experienced!
Most important of all is that this is a time of going within in the Northern
Hemisphere. The leaves are falling, the days getting shorter, and the weather
colder. Soon we will be right in the middle of Winter and this is a great
time for some introspection. Curl up inside in the warmth and read a good
book, nurture the child within with hot chocolate and cookies, take some time
to meditate and acknowledge the different things you have learned this year.
I'd like to draw everyone's attention to the links section
at the end of the newsletter, there is one link to The
Hunger Site which is a fabulous non-profit organisation dedicated to feeding
the hungry, saving our rainforests, rescuing abused and unwanted animals,
getting free mammograms for women, and helping children get the medical care
they need. The site is sponsored by a number of organisations, and YOU can
help just by clicking on a link each and every day! Read all about it at the
website, you can also start by clicking on the button just below.
Bright Blessings to all,
and have a great Thanksgiving!

Giving Thanks for What Hurts the Most By Dekora |
![]() |
We all know the importance of being grateful for the good that comes into our
lives. Being grateful for these things makes openings for them to continue coming
into our lives. It also recognises that we are not alone in our creations and
that we are thankful for the other gods, entities, spirits, guides that help
us out in day to day activities. It is also acknowledging that we are co-creators
with Spirit, and in a way we thank ourselves for bringing good in.
But what about the so-called bad?
We never think to give thanks for that because it is a negative experience and
we dislike it. Yet these situations bring more learning into our lives than
any of the good. They give us a chance to face a challenge and overcome it.
Without the negative we would be unable to see the good when it comes in, and
we would thus be unable to give thanks for that too! There is one thing that
many people, especially those entrenched in good, are unable to admit.
They are as much co-creators of the negative in their lives, as they are for
the positive.
We don't want to admit this however, because then we would have to acknowledge
the fact that we have somehow called into our experience a negative situation.
And who wants that? It is important to acknowledge and give thanks for all these
negative experiences as well as the good. There is always a lesson to be experienced,
and by thanking it for coming into our lives, we can open up to the lesson and
learn something from it. We become the student and the experience is the teacher.
Accepting the darkness in our lives is as important as welcoming the light.
Without the darkness we would be unable to see anything. Shine a light into
a room of light and you see nothing without darkness to illuminate the shadow
and contours of it's contents. It is a necessary partner to all creation, and
without it all experience would be the same, boring, day in day out experience.
We would have nothing to give thanks for because nothing would have value to
it, as there is nothing to compare it with.
So what I am saying, is be thankful for ALL experience. As it is all valid and
valuable.
When we hurt, we are challenged to find out what is wrong, what we can do to
make it not hurt. We learn a lot about ourselves during this time. Sometimes
we have to hit rock bottom to discover what is important to us. We can then
take this experience with us, and apply it to the future. It is time to embrace
the shadow, and thank it for teaching us to be thankful for the good when it
comes into our lives. If we deny the shadow it will show up regardless, only
more powerfully to get it's point across.
Be thankful for it all.

What Happens When You Let Go? By Sandy Stevenson |
![]() |
We hear the expressions ‘Go with the flow’, ‘Let go and let God’ and ‘Surrender
to Spirit’. What is it that we are supposed to be letting go of and to whom?
What does it mean and where do we start? Words like God and Spirit mean different
things to different people. Perhaps we agree that it is a concept of creation
or consciousness, a Divine flow or the natural order of things. We probably think
all our problems could be solved if we could just win the lottery. But perhaps,
what we really want from life is more along the lines of loving and caring relationships,
joy, fun, happiness and harmony, where we feel we are being useful. How do we
ensure that we achieve that?
First of all, you have to want to change. If you feel that life is a bit humdrum,
a treadmill and you are getting worn out trying to control each part of it (otherwise
it is bound to fall apart!) with the odd distraction that gives pleasure - are
you ready to change? By following your intuition and ‘going with the flow,’
life can change for the better.
OK. We are ready. A new life is afoot. Where do we start?
As the wise old sages say ‘out of stillness comes wisdom,’ so first of all we
need to stop our thoughts distracting us. I am sure we’ve all had those sleepless
nights, with a never ending stream of thoughts going around in our head. We
need to apply some sort of discipline to put us back in control of our own thoughts,
so that we are controlling them and they are not controlling us.
Begin by finding some time in each day, even if it's just 10 minutes, that is
just for you. A quiet place in the garden is ideal. A time to relax and be still,
where your attention will not be dragged onto something or someone.
Sit quietly and as each thought pops into your head, quietly and firmly say
no and don’t pay it any attention. Don’t bury the thoughts, but let them float
up and pass by like feathers on a gentle breeze, letting them go. Release, release,
release. Keep doing this for at least 10 minutes each day, for however long
it takes, until you have achieved a permanently quiet mind. A silent mind, allows
you to get in touch with your intuitive side. You are trying to live from your
spiritual nature and not from the dictates of your mind.
Check every now and again during the day and ask yourself ‘Am I in my head or
my heart’? That means ‘am I doing what the mind is telling me I should or must
do or am I listening to my intuition, and doing what interests and feels right
to me? If you find you are doing something that doesn’t interest or excite you,
stop and listen again to your inner voice. In each minute, you will find there
is always one thing that is more right for you to do than anything else.
Following this feeling of rightness is called ‘being in the flow and Divine
order’. When you live your life in this way, the weight of the world is removed
from your shoulders and any struggle or suffering is replaced by joy, happiness,
love and excitement.
It may not be achieved in an instant, but with a bit of determination and really
listening to your inner voice, each moment will become a minute and then an
hour and a day. Soon you will be experiencing a new life in all its magnificence
and beauty.
You have ‘let go’ and now ‘miracles can happen’.

Reclaiming Your Sacred Energy By Daeryl Lewis |

7th - Crown Center (Above the head) Psychic Center, Connection to Spirit / Gold, White, Rainbow This center is your connection to your higher self, to your spirit guides and to divine spirit. Cords here are powerful, resulting in intimate and psychic connections. Be very selective here, as it possible to subconsciously or astrally (during sleep) influence, or be influenced by, another through a cord at this center. Also, this center links into all the other centers, and can connect two people on many levels. |
![]() |
6th - Mind Center (Forehead/Third Eye) Mental Images, Communication / Purple This is an important place to maintain cords to important people in your life, as it aids in your ability to receive and relate to each other's thoughts and messages. However, it is also very easy to inadvertently form cords here, during any type of conversation. Even when there is little emotional involvement, the energy of another can feel "stuck" to you here, long after they are no longer around you, often taking the form of a headache or confused thinking. When you feel foggy-headed or that your thoughts are not your own, check for cords to this center. |
![]() |
5th - Vocal Center (Throat) Self-Expression, Ability to Speak, Authority / Blue This center is very often blocked, especially in women, and cords here are usually not helpful. When there are unhealthy cords here, the result is a feeling of not being able to express yourself, being afraid to speak your truth, etc. There can also be a feeling of being choked or suffocated. Often these cords are attached and carried over from early childhood and past lives of being punished for speaking out or expressing your power. |
![]() |
4th - Heart Center (Chest) Ability to give and receive love / Green Here is where we form cords for close emotional bonds to those we love. Cords here can be used to send and receive love. Strengthening or healing these cords can greatly improve relationships which have become estranged or where the connection has moved too much to the head. Often, heart cords need to be removed to clear emotional influence from those you no longer wish to be connected to. "Pulling on my heart strings" is a common expression describing the effects of a heart cord which is not mutually clear or free flowing. |
![]() |
3rd - Power Center (Solar Plexus) Personal Power, Life Force Energy / Yellow This center holds your vital life force energy and personal power. It is not healthy, (except in life threatening situations), to have cords here, or to rely on the energy of another. Each person is responsible for their own soul essence energy. Cords that are attached here have the potential to drain you of your strength and power, and should be removed. |
![]() |
2nd - Emotional Center (Belly) Storage of Feelings, Life Memories and Patterns / Orange Through this center, you have access to life memories of old emotional traumas. If you trust someone completely with unconditional love, such as in a parent/child or healer/patient relationship, temporary cords serve to connect you for support and nurturing on deep healing levels. But most often, it is not healthy to have cords here, especially in the case of past lovers, or adult children to parents. This is where you are vulnerable, emotionally, to old patterns and connections with people from your past. Removing cords here can free you from the ties that enable a person to 'push your emotional buttons'. |
![]() |
1st - Root Center (Base of Spine & Pubic Area) Sexual Energy, Survival / Red This center is the most primal of centers. It holds the root of your instincts, passions, and psychic creativity. Before agreeing to an energy cord at this center, it is important that there also be connections at the heart and mind centers (4th & 6th), and that there be a deep level of respect and trust. Cords here can be used to access any of the other centers, and unhealthy cords can manifest as physical illness, drained energy, or mental or emotional confusion. |

Spirit of Autumn By Vanessa Ebner |

The season's change is upon us. The air grows crisp and the leaves begin to
slowly change colors. The animals gather nuts and berries and prepare for the
winter ahead of them. It is time they go within, their time to hibernate, rest,
and revamp.
As it is with nature so it is with mankind. It is time to gather our harvest
and give thanks for all abundance our achievements and opportunities have brought
to us. It is time to go within and prepare for the winter of our earth spirit.
It is a time for reflection. It is time to slow down. Give thanks for what summer
has laid at our doorstep. Autumn.
As the days grow shorter you can actually feel the energy place its veil of
calmness over our earth spirit. It beckons us to retreat and reflect upon the
lessons learned. Rejoice in each day that follows as your spirit and soul prepare
you for what lay ahead. What lies ahead are more scheduled days of sharing and
caring. It is a time we begin to prepare for the indoor holidays that are approaching.
It is a time to gather all the yummies for the big Thanksgiving Day dinner.
It is a time for a gathering of our inner feelings of our days gone by that
we lovingly shared. As we again find ourselves sitting around a table filled
with signs of our abundance give thanks for the love that continues to be shared
freely. The seasonal change is upon us once again, share with all what it means
to you.
Even if this time of year finds you busier than you were before it is important
to stop and bask in the Autumnal spirit that brings us all indoors. Soak up
the aromas of all the baking, the feeling and gifting that brings friends and
families together to give thanks once again. The hustle and bustle should be
enjoyed and shared, free of stress or it loses the meaning of what it is meant
to bring to the heart; a time of giving thanks and sharing the love that this
seasonal change brings to each. From my heart to yours I give thanks, love,
and appreciation for this season that graces us and brings us all together.
God Bless!
I give thanks for my bounty while breathing in the loving energy of seasonal
changes!

Waiting Periods By Wendy Kay |
![]() |
As we walk our life paths, we will come across times where nothing seems to
be happening. There is a feeling of stagnation, deadness or stillness to the
path. We may think we are not "doing something" that we should be doing. We
call these times "waiting periods."
During waiting periods, it feels as if we "should" be doing something to go
forward. However, these times are usually times when we don't have to actually
do anything. From our perspective, it is a time of stillness, but from the perspective
of our Guiding entities, it is a time of much action.
From the Guides' perspective, it is a time of set-up. Experiences are being
set up for us. Lessons are being arranged and opportunities are being put into
place. The Guides are running around, ensuring all the pieces are ready for
us when the time is right for us to once again actively start moving forward.
If you meditate to see what is going on, you might see pictures of the Guides
running around or pictures of a primary Guide giving instructions to other Guides
who disappear from the picture and then return. A checklist of what needs to
be in place is being followed until all items on the list are done.
Sometimes, a waiting period involves other people that are learning lessons.
Those people are important to your life path, and you must wait until they learn
their lessons before you can actively move forward. Again, you may feel like
nothing is going on in your life, but the people you are waiting for are going
through many, many changes. Once they are ready, you can start to feel the action
in your life. Remember, everything happens in sequence, and one event must happen
before the next, and your next event might be dependent on someone else.
Waiting periods are difficult to handle for most people. We are used to "doing
something." Unless we are absolutely exhausted or ill, we believe that we should
be working, cleaning, learning, planning, expanding our awareness, healing,
etc. We feel it is alright to rest for a short period of time, but not for several
weeks or months, and sometimes waiting periods can take that long. What makes
the waiting period even more difficult is that you can feel the new energy starting
to come into your life, so you think you should be doing something, but there
is nothing to actually do...yet.
How can you handle those time periods? First of all, you have to be able to
recognize these times. If you meditate and your Guides tell you that it is a
rest period, then that makes things a little easier. Otherwise, you need to
trust your intuition, because you WILL feel that there is nothing for you to
do. If you can rid yourself of all feelings of fear or pressures from family
or society that you "should" be doing something, then the need for rest and
relaxation will become apparent to you. Most importantly, having patience and
trust will get you through those long days of simply waiting (and those days
can feel like they go on forever).
These time periods can actually feel more difficult than going through the actual
lesson. Most of us are used to having to do something, but few who are walking
this path are used to taking a few months off from our learning. Waiting periods
are lessons in themselves, and if you find yourself in the middle of one, try
to enjoy it instead of worrying over it. Know that the waiting will end, and
you will soon be moving on, so take advantage of the downtime to relax and enjoy
life.

It's easy to forgive

Australian Animal Wisdom Turkey By Dekora |
![]() |
Turkey reminds us to be thankful for all that we have harvested this year, and
to keep good thoughts about what is to come in the following year. He also reminds
us to be thankful for those in our lives who have given to us selflessly and
generously. Turkey is the ultimate sacrifice, a generous animal who gives of
his spirit to nourish the hungry, and he reminds us to give each and every day,
to always be generous of heart.
In the wild Turkey lives in the moment, he is a teacher, and shows us how to
adapt to our surroundings, and survive in whatever circumstances may come our
way. When things seem a little tough and out of control you can call on Turkey
wisdom for guidance and grounding - ask him to show you the path most beneficial
to you at this moment, and don't be afraid to walk it. Live in the moment and
trust your feelings most of all, these are our greatest guides.
At this time of the year it is time to examine what we no longer need in our
lives. It is a time of death and rebirth, letting go of things that we don't
need, and welcoming new wonderful things into our lives. Turkey is here to remind
us to let go, and to give without thought of getting anything in return, give
selflessly. Release your attachment to things and give it away if it's something
you no longer need or use.
Turkey can be used as a representation of giving with an open heart. He is selfless,
giving of his feathers for dusters, body for food and nourishment, and he gives
with no thought of getting anything in return. True giving is something that
comes from the heart, without expectation. When you can give and not desire
any reaction (bad or good) then you are truly giving with an open heart. And
this is a beautiful thing.
