Moses Heyman & Mrs. Harris Goldstein

On the 6th day of the week the second day of the month April in the year five thousand six hundred and eleven from the creation of the world according to the Hebrew calculation here in Sacramento in the State of California part of America - Mr. Moses Heyman the son of Mr. Jacob Coppel Hayman - otherwise called said Mrs. Harris Goldstein daughter of Mr. Mine Gavel or otherwise called be unto - to me a wife according to the laws of Moses and Israel, I will support, honor, sustain and maintain thee according to the laws of Jewish husbands who support honor sustain and maintain their wives properly. And I give unto thee as Marriage present pieces of silver coin which are due to you according to the Mosaic Law, also they food they garments all thy wantz and an habitation according to the worldly custom. And the said Mrs. Harris Goldstein daughter of Mr. Mai Israel consented to become his wife, and the dowry which she brings from her whether it be in silver gold, trinkets, garments furniture or bedding amounting in value to = dollars of American coin: and the bridegroom Mr. Moses Heyman is pleased to add thereto from his own One Thousand Dollars of American coin - the whole amounting to One Thousand dollars American money. And thus spoke the bridegroom Mr. Moses Heyman the responsibility of this contract of marriage with Miss Harris Goldstein I pledge myself to pay or to be paid by my heirs after me from the most valuable property I possess under heaven out of property which I at present possess and that which I may possess hereafter property liable or not liable to be incumbered, shall all be secured to pay this contract of Marriage -- additional dowry evan the clothes upon my person must not be spared whilst I am living and after my death from this day and forever: and the responsibility and force of this marriage contract and additional dowry Mr. Moses Heyman the bridegroom has subjected himself agreeable to the rules of all marriage and additional contracts customary amongst the daughters of Israel, which are executed according to the law of our Sages of blessed memory and not as an invalidated contract or draft thereof: and we have bound Mr. Moses Heyman the son of Mr. Jacob C. Heyman Mrs. Harris Goldstein the daughter of Mr. Mire Israel in conformity with what is mentioned above through a garment proper for such binding. All this is just and established.
