RULES OF EQUITATION DIVISION OF HHSA |
In equitation only the RIDER is judged ***A rider may only rider ONE HORSE/PONY per class. ***A handler may only handle ONE HORSE/PONY per class Class Rules --A JUNIOR is a rider who has not yet reached his or her 18th birthday --A SENIOR is a rider 18 years and over --To enter WALK/TROT (JOG) a rider must be 12 years or younger and have never shown at a canter --A NOVICE rider is a rider who has not won five or more top placing ribbons in the HHSA division of equitation (top placing ribbons is defined as 1st, 2nd, or 3rd) in that seat of equitation. For example, if a rider has exceed the limit of being a Novice is Hunt Seat but not in Saddle Seat, they would still be able to be a Novice in Saddle Seat but not Hunt. --LEADLINE is a class where an adult leads to horse/pony, only shown at walk and trot. Only the rider is judged not the leader. A rider must never have shown riding a horse/pony under own control without adult leading. --For IN HAND PROSPECT CLASSES the horse is judged (only time in equitaion division where the rider is not judged). Horses/Ponies must never have shown under saddle. |
ENTRY FORMAT |
For Prospect Classes: Horse handled by Handler from Barn Initials (owner)** For all other classes: Rider riding Horse from Barn Initials (owner)** |
The Equitation division is designed for, well the equitation horses/ponies and riders out there. In this division, the rider only is judged (except in In Hand Prospect Classes). This idea is great for your VRs to gain points and titles. The ratings are the rough draft for now. They may or may not change. This depends on turnout and response to the classlist. Yes, the classlist is small for all ratings but this gives the show holder less work and trouble for points. For now no Reserve Champions or Champions will be done until a later date. |
