Chapter 4

Benji tightened his grip around Luxx's body as he heard he words seep into his ears. "Pregnant?"

She pulled away and nodded slowly, tears clinging to her eyes. "It's not a cab kind of conversation or a club kind of conversation."

He brushed her tears away from her skin and kissed her forehead. "Are you sure?" No one could hear their conversation but them.

"I went to the doctor on Monday." She leaned her head more into his hands. "You're mad?"

He shook his head. "Luxx, I'm not mad at all. I'm...well, I'm a little happy. Surprised, but happy." Benji moved his hand away from her cheek and rubbed his brown eyes, smiling a little. "We're going to have a kid...together."

Luxx smiled a little wider, still a little shocked and a little scared of the future. She rested her head on his shoulder with tears on her cheek.

"Should we keep this our little secret for awhile?" Benji asked.

She shook her head. "I don't care, Benj. They'll find out sooner or later. I just want to go back to the hotel and sleep."

Benji wrapped his arm around his fiancée and stood up slowly, Luxx following his movements. "I'll call Joel later on tonight." He whispered in her ear. "Let's just get out of here now." She nodded sleepily and waited for Benji to announce their departure. They waved, said brief good-byes then walked out to grab a cab back to the hotel.

Luxx settled back into his arms once they were in route to the hotel. She sighed and traced his tattoos with her finger. "I wonder if our kid will have tattoos all over when he's born."

Benji grunted. "Oh, fuck." He said slowly. "My mom's going to know I had sex."

This made Luxx laugh uncontrollably. "I think she had some idea, Benj."

"No way! I'm so innocent. She didn't know."

Luxx settled back down a stopped laughing. She turned around partially to face him a little better. "I don't think your mom likes me much, and I doubt this is going to make her like me more."

He shook his head. "She just hasn't gotten to know you very well. She will though, she'll love you." He kissed the top of her head with his pierced lips.

Luxx let out a sigh and said, "I've met her, Benji, we've talked, but she doesn't seem to like me."

"She will, Luxx. Give her time. She's probably a little upset that some beautiful girl is taking me away." Benji ran his hands over her stomach where their child was growing. He smiled slightly, trying to push the thought of how his mother would react out of his head. "Mom won't be happy that we're having a kid out of wedlock."

"One more reason for her to hate me."

"Luxx! Seriously, she's going to get to know you so much better, babe, it'll all be okay," Benji lied. He wanted to believe that it was going to be okay, but he wasn't sure at all. When he had brought Luxx home four months ago to meet his mom, he remembered everything she had said about her.

"I think you can do better than her, Benji. She seems like she's after one thing, and that's money. Benji, she isn't even Christian! Isn't that what you wanted in a girl, a good Christian girl who loves you for you? She's very beautiful, but you and I both know that this is the worst thing you've ever brought home to meet me. I don't understand what you see in her."

He tugged his hat down a little over his eyes and buried his nose in her brown hair. "I love you." He whispered just barely loud enough for her to hear him.

Luxx moaned softly and said, "I love you, too, Benj." Her voice was groggy, and she was almost half asleep by the time the cab pulled up in front of the hotel. She wearily stepped out of the car, holding onto his lose belt for support. "God, Benj, I'm so tired." They started into a hotel when they heard a voice behind them.

"Oh, wow…can I have your autograph?" Benji and Luxx turned around to look at a teenager who was searching through his bag for a pen. Luxx had gotten used to Benji's fame and the millions of fans that wanted his autograph.

"Me?" Benji asked. He still couldn't believe how many people actually liked him.

The teenager looked down at the cement. "Umm, well…I actually wanted Luxx's."

Benji turned his head down to his fiancée who was sleepily resting her head on his shoulder. "Me?" She asked. It had been some years since someone wanted her autograph. The teenager nodded. "Are you sure?" He laughed and nodded again. She let go of Benji and stepped forward to sign a quick sheet of paper and do some brief chit-chat.

"That was weird." She said as she watched the fan walk away happily.

"Why? You're an amazing artist." She shook her head and walked back into Benji's arms.

They took the elevator up to Luxx's room and walked in. She lay down on the bed and he sat down next to her.

"You'll stay here tonight, right?" She asked reaching up and touching his face. He nodded and kicked his shoes off so he could swing his legs up and interlock them with hers.

"I never get any sleep when we share the same bed. It's like, you know, if I fall asleep, I'm missing out on Luxx-time."

"Luxx-time?" She questioned, laughing a little. He wrapped an arm around her waist, but left one arm to prop himself up with and look at her.

"Luxx-time. I never get enough time with you." Benji brushed some hair out of her eyes. He was right, he never got enough time with her, and he was worried that he wasn't going to get enough time with their child either. Between touring and recording, he knew that there was always going to be time for family, especially Luxx. He just wondered how it would all fit in if his mother disapproved of his future wife.
