Chapter 6 By: Michelle Jeremiah walked towards the men's bathroom, but stopped when he heard a female's cries. It was coming behind the women's bathroom door. It sounded like Michelle, but he wasn't too sure. He couldn't barge in, but he couldn't just leave the mysterious lady alone to cry. Slowly swing the door in, he didn't see anything in front, until the back of the door hit something. His head poked in and looked to see what he had hit. His heart lurched out when he saw Michelle crying against the corner, her legs touching her chest, her arms protectively wrapped around her knees and her head buried in deep. He quickly kneeled next to her, hesitantly touched her forearm. Her head shot up to see who was there and she tried to wipe away her crying. Her soft brown eyes were now bloodshot red and her cheeks glistened with her tears. "What's wrong? What happened?" Michelle saw Jeremiah and instantly hatred entered her sad eyes. She jerked her arm away from his touch, abruptly standing up, leaving Jeremiah to wonder why she was like this. He stood up from the floor and looked into her eyes, not saying anything because he was scared too. "How can you just stand there like nothing?" her voice so soft with no emotion, he could barely make out what she was saying. "Like what?" he asked, confused. She narrowed her eyes and sniffed. "How can you stand to look at me?" "Look at you like what? I don't know what you're talking about." Jeremiah rubbed the back of his neck. Michelle scoffed, throwing her head back to look up at the white ceiling; she let out a throaty chuckle. "You knew, didn't you?" His mind went into overdrive. What could she have been talking about? He thought and let out a small gasp as he realized it. She heard his gasp and she looked back at him. "You knew and yet, you let me go with him. You didn't say anything. Why didn't you say anything? Do you get money too? Are you apart of this?" Jeremiah shook his head. "I'm not apart of anything." "Yeah? Did they send you here to get me for one of their ideas or something? Or maybe you heard what Matt had said and you decided to experience it for yourself?" He shook his head again. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. He wasn't like that. "No one sent me. I heard someone crying and I came to see what was wrong." "Helping a poor girl out, so you can get into her pants, right?" "NO!" he shouted, "I'm not like those sick fucks. I admit I knew about their fucking bet, but I didn't know it was you until I noticed you leaving with Matt in his car. I would have fucking stopped you, if I wasn't being groped by some fucking 13-year old teenybopper." He paused and calmed himself down to see Michelle listening intently. "Usually I don't give a rat's ass about their stupid bets and who they choose, but with you, it was different. You were so different from all the other girls that they were with, I thought you wouldn't have fallen for Matt's charm." Michelle softly chuckled. "Different? You mean, I wasn't throwing myself onto them? I wasn't smart enough to escape Matt's charm and look where it's gotten me. I'm in a fucking bathroom, crying, because I overheard a couple of bastards talking about their won bet." "I don't know what I can say." "Because there is nothing you can say." She ran a hand through her chestnut hair and sighed. "And I'm just going to forget about it." Jeremiah arched one of his eyebrows. "Just like that, you're going to forget about it?" "What can I do? It hurts like fucking hell to get used like that, especially when it's a bet. Hell, I actually thought that Matt and I could have had something, but who the fuck am I kidding? Only myself. It was one night of meaningless shit and I don't care anymore because I don't plan on seeing Matt ever again." He watched Michelle close her eyes shut and the last of her uncried tears fell. She quickly wiped them away and opened her eyes and stared back into Jeremiah's soft brown eyes. "I don't ever plan on seeing any of you guys again." She coldly stated before walking out of the bathroom, leaving Jeremiah's heart to break at her harsh words. |
