Chapter 3
By: Michelle

Benji repeatedly banged his head against the wall of the dressing room.

"Do that a little longer and you actually might get your brain to start working again." Paul teased as he entered the room along with rest of the band.

Benji stopped his banging and flopped onto the couch, sighing loudly.

Billy rolled his eyes. "My dear, Benji, what's wrong?"

"He got all soft in front of Ella Johnson. He wasn't his manly, tough self." Joel explained, with an amused smile.

Billy and Paul looked at each other and laughed.

"Shut up!" Benji defended.

The truth was he was head over heels for her. He didn't even know her personally and made a fool out of himself. He saw her in a movie and that was the beginning of the end. He didn't know what was wrong with him. He was usually smooth and cool when it came to women; he was the one who made them feel like Jell-O, not the other way. He never had any deep emotions when it came to women, but when Ella smiled, he felt warm and gooey inside.

Happiness.

Acceptance.

He never cared what other thought of him and didn't care if he was accepted of not, but suddenly he wanted Ella to accept him, to make him feel wanted and loved.

Ella couldn't help, but smile as the thought of Benji came into her mind. She had to admit that the interview was fun and exciting. Usually interviews were long and boring, with the same dull questions, but the twin brothers made it interesting. She noticed the way Benji had been staring at her. Not 'you're so hot and I just want you for your fame' stare, but more 'I truly care about you and I want to know you better' stare. He kept her laughing throughout the whole interview and asked off the topic questions. Instead of the 'what's your favorite color?' it was more like 'do you see me in a hot pink thong or g-string?' kind of questions.

Joel had asked if she was seeing anyone, she said no and Benji's eyes lit up like the night of 4th of July. Then, of course, Benji asked her to marry him and carry his love child.

She said yes.

Ella shook her head and chuckled.

"What's so funny?"

Ella adverted her eyes to the business-suited woman who sat across the limo seats.

"Nothing."

The woman raised her eyebrow then went back to writing in her notebook.

"I'm going to a concert tonight." Ella stated.

"What concert?"

"Good Charlotte."

"Good who?"

"Good Charlotte. The boys invited me and I accepted."

"You know them?"

"They interviewed me. The twin boys?"

The woman shrugged. "You can't go."

"WHAT?!" Ella shrieked.

"You should stay in and rest. You have tons of interviews to do tomorrow."

Ella scoffed. "Look, Carmen, I'm going to go to the concert. It's my choice whether to stay in or out. Second, I thought you said I had the day off tomorrow."

Carmen shrugged again. "Up to you for tonight and tomorrow, busy."

"No, you said I would HAVE the day off tomorrow." Ella fumed.

"Things change. I'm your publicist and I thought you could use more exposure. If you want some time off, then don't go the concert tonight." Carmen unfairly reasoned.

Ella opened her mouth, but quickly closed it. She looked out the car window and simply stated, "I'm going tonight."

------

Benji paced back and forth, plucking his guitar strings as he waited backstage.

"Stop pacing, you're making me dizzy." Joel joked.

Benji stopped, flipped his brother off and went back to pacing.

"Clam down. She said she'd come."

"What if she doesn't?"

"She said she would. Why are you so worked up over her? This is a first."

Benji bounced on the balls of his feet. "What are you talking about? Anyways, what if she doesn't come? She said she would, but what if she doesn't show?"

"I always keep my promises." A female's voice came from behind.

Benji turned around to face Ella's smiling face.

"I'm here, aren't I?" Ella chuckled. "Aren't you going to greet me?"

Joel went around Benji and hugged her. "Hey, glad you could come." He released her.

"Thanks for inviting me. So where are rest the of the cute boys?"

Ella and Joel turned to where Paul was standing and began to walk.

Benji snapped out of his daze, screaming. "WAIT!"

Joel and Ella stopped and turned back to Benji.

"Ahh, so glad you decided to join us." Ella joked as she enveloped Benji into a hug. He hugged her back tightly, smelling in her essences, almost afraid to let her go.

"Good Charlotte, you're on in 2 minutes!" the PA informed.

Benji released her, but kept a hold of her hands and stared into her eyes. "Stay here and watch the show, okay? Don't go anywhere."

Ella looked deep into his chocolate eyes and smiled. "Your mascara is running. Who does your makeup because you should fire them."

They both laughed while Ella playfully wiped the trace of the running black streak.

"I'll be right here, watching and cheering."

Benji nodded as he slowly let go of her hands and went on stage.

He couldn't help but smile as something formed between the two.
