01/10/04: The second Contemporary Music Festival, organizes by Spain´s Embassy, started today. The festival will present music of some Circomper members, such as Jimmy López, Fernando Fernandez and Gonzalo Garrido Lecca among others.

19/07/04: Peru´s National Conservatory, National Symphonic Orchestra and National Chorus gave a Concert to honor Enrique Iturriaga. Enrique has been awarded recently by the Education Ministry with the Palmas Magisteriales prize, in acknowledgment of his educational achievements.

21/11/03: "Variaciones Concertantes para Piano, Clarinete y Orquesta", a composition written for Villa Maria High School Orchestra ("Orquesta Villarmónica") was premiered today. The orchestra was conducted by Hugo Alcázar, and the soloists, to whom the composition is dedicated, were Jessica Gonzáles (piano) and Alicia Fonseca (Clarinet).

21/02/03: Circomper, a group of young Peruvian composers, had a meeting with Miguel Harth-Bedoya, a Peruvian conductor who works in Oregon, US.

03/11/02: Finally, I wrote the last measures of the second movement of my composition for mixed chorus and orchestra ("Dos Poemas de Jorge Eduardo Eielson"). It still needs some finishing up, so I guess I´ll upload it to this page on December.

19/10/02: "Cantos", my first composition for violin and piano, was premiered at the Methodist University of Piracicaba (Brasil) by Claudio Mahle and Bernadete Sampaio.

7/09/02: I have just finished the first movement of the composition for mixed chorus and orchestra I´m presenting for graduation! (called "Dos Poemas de Jorge Eduardo Eielson") The second movement should be finished in a month or two.

31/08/02: Circomper, a group of young Peruvian composers, had a meeting with José Quezada Macchiavelo, an important music critic based in Lima, Perú.

24/08/02: Lima´s Philharmonic Society premiered an orchestral composition by Peruvian composer José Carlos Campos, called "Cuadros Fantásticos Andinos"

09/08/02: Mario Alvarado, a member of Circomper, and an intelligent and gifted pianist passed away on august 9th. He was buried in Los Jardines de la Paz cemetery the next day. May his soul rest in peace.

Sadiel Cuentas was born in Lima, Peru, in September 1973. After finishing high school in 1990, he played electric guitar in several rock groups for 5 years. He was admitted into Peru´s National Conservatory in August 1995, and studied composition with Enrique Iturriaga and Dante Valdez. His music has been played in several local concerts since 1999. In October 2001 his first orchestral composition was premiered by the National Conservatory´s Symphonic Orchestra. Currently he teaches at a local pritave high school
