    Rehearsal every Friday, 7:00-9.00pm.
    from mid-August to mid-June with conductor David Montgomery.
    We are on vacation right now. Fall rehearsals to start on August 28, 2009.
    Social hour after the rehearsal.

    Concert Saturday, July 18, 2009 - 11am to 4pm
    The Washington Sängerbund will participate with the Arion Gesangverein of Baltimore in the 50th Anniversary of the launching of the first nuclear merchant ship SAVANNAH, on board the Savannah in Baltimore Harbor.

    Oktoberfest Saturday, September 26, 2009, 11:00am - 6:00pm - Oktoberfest in Lovettsville, VA.
    Held in downtown Lovettsville, Virginia, located off Route 287 (Berlin Pike) in Loudoun County.
    Music and dancing throughout the afternoon. Delicious German food like Bratwurst, Knockwurst, Sauerkraut, etc. served by the Washington Sängerbund. You can find us right in front of the big Oktoberfest tent.

    Oktoberfest Saturday, October 3, 2009, 12 noon to 6:00pm - Oktoberfest of Mid-Atlantic Brewers Association in Shirlington, 2700 S.Quince St, Arlington, VA.
    Delicious German food served by the Washington Sängerbund. Performances by the Alpine Dancers, live German music by the Edelweiss Band. Held on streets outside Capitol City Brewing Company, 2700 S. Quincy St., Shirlington. Directions: The exit from Shirley Highway (#395) if you are driving north is #6, between King Street (#5) to the south and Glebe Road (#7) to the north. If you are driving south, take Exit #7 for the "Shirlington" exit, and follow sign to Shirlington. The Village at Shirlington is WEST of Shirley Highway.) Click for Map

    ‘Totensonntag’ service at Prospect Hill Cemetery, 2201 North Capitol Street, NE, Washington, DC 20002. This is the burial site of many prominent German-Americans, including Julius Viedt, the first president of the Washington Sängerbund.

    Sunday, November 15, 2009, 5pm - Annual Fall Concert ‘Mostly Mendelssohn’
    Held at the elegant Fairfax Ballroom, 9001 Fairfax Blvd., Fairfax,Va. 22031.
    The Washington Sängerbund will be accompanied by members of the Prince William Symphony Orchestra and under the direction of conductor David Montgomery.
    Food and drink available. Dancing after the concert with Mike Surrat‘s ‘Continentals’.


    Saturday, December 4, 2009, 7:00pm and 8:pm - Christmas at the Brewmaster's Castle
    At the Heurich Mansion the Washington Sängerbund will perform German Christmas music and lead a sing-along with familiar Christmas carols. Doors open at 6:00pm for guided tours. Refreshments.     Sunday, December 20, 2009, 3 pm - The Sängerbund's traditional German Christmas Concert
    at the United Church (Die Vereinigte Kirche), 20th & G Streets, NW, Washington, DC.
    An offering is taken to help those in need. Following the concert, coffee and Christmas cookies are served in the social hall downstairs. Click for United Church.

    Fasching - Karneval - Mardi Gras
    Saturday, February 13, 2010, 7:00pm til midnight - Annual Fasching/Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball.
    Come join us at our festive Costume Prize Masquerade Ball held at the same fabulous Grand Ballroom at 9001 Arlington Blvd, Fairfax, VA. Enjoy live dance music by two great bands playing a wide variety of dance music, including waltzes, polkas, disco, sambas, and other Karneval, Latin and ballroom dances. Savor delicious German food specialties, German and domestic beer and wine, soft drinks, and champagne.
