		At the Skating Club's party on April 30 one of the things the adults enjoyed about our hour on the arena ice rink at our Crystal Ice Palace in San Antonio, Texas, was watching the kids do the forbidden "playing on the ice" after the adults had retired to the chatting and eating area following a more sedate skate. There were screams of glee as the kids made a human chain, tagged each other etc. out on the ice and didn't seem to practice anything, just had fun out there. Then our really quite Italian dinner, due to the creativity of our members, was perfectly delicious, albeit a bit weighted in the dessert department. Betty and Mary felt gratified by the turnout, some took the time just to stop by and say hello at least, and the fine support elicited by the 60 or so phone calls to members was well worth the effort. The party area selected for the event, near the west arena ice gate by the sharpening shop, and utilizing the nearby bleachers for partying groups, was such a big hit we were told by one member never to have a skating party anywhere else again! The good time all seemed to have felt good to us both, and after we rest up, we want to do it again in '99. (Editor's Note: Although everyone did thier part for this party, Mary was the chief organizer and really made it happen. The "60 or so phone calls" were all made by her. We thank you Mary!)
