                                SAFWAA CONSERVATION POLICY

This policy developed by SAFWAA Executive is designed to preserve the environment in and around the waters managed by SAFWAA. the main objective, of course, is to PRESERVE SAFWAA'S INVESTMENT IN FISH STOCKS & THE OWNERS INVESTMENT IN THE PROPERTY.

It is hoped that the following policy will become common practice by all SAFWAA members, regardless of where they are fishing. It is SAFWAA'S part in an increasing need for recreational anglers to preserve the otherwise diminshed fishery.

1. Barbless hooks should be used for bait fishing and on all lures and flies. Standard hooks should be modified by flattening the barb. This may be done by simply squeezing the barb with pliers or forceps.
2. Obseve SAFWAA size and bag limit regulations.
3. Report to the property owner anything abnormal about his property or stock.

EVERY MEMBER IS ASKED TO ASSIST IN THE PRESERVATION OF SAFWAA FISH STOCKS BY (WHERE POSSIBLE) RETURNING FISH CAUGHT TO THE WATER. A PHOTOGRAPH OF THE CATCH MAY BE ALL THAT IS REQUIRED BY THE ANGLER, TO PRESERVE THE MEMORY OF A SUCCESSFUL OUTING.

COMMON SENSE SHOULD BE USED WITH RESPECT OF THE OWNERS PROPERTY.
