Lions Honor Board; Induct New Leaders
June 21, 2006

The membership of the Saginaw Downtown Lions Club recently held their
86th Annual Recognition Banquet and Installation of Officers at the Davenport Inn, Saginaw.

The yearly night of recognition provides the members of the club an opportunity to reflect back on the successful year it had in helping the Saginaw community.  Highlights of the evening included handing out individual awards for the year-long service members provided, including, 100 Percent Attendance awards, Chevrons for total years of service to the club, and the outgoing president’s message acknowledging his thanks and support of the Board and fellow members to make this club what it is today.  We congratulate Lion past president
Jewel Richardson for her wonderful leadership the past year!

The banquet also served as the backdrop for the induction of the new Board for the coming year.  Congratulations go out to the new president, Lion
Matt Sujkowski and her new slate of officers.

The major highlight of the evening always comes down to the announcement of the
Lorenz A. Loos Lion of the Year Memorial Award. This year, the Lion of the Year, as recommended by the selection committee, is Lion JT Holmes!  Congratulations to Lion JT for his valuable contributions he made to the club over the past year!
