Lions Park

Lions Park is a major community betterment project for the Saginaw Downtown Lions Club. The Lions officially acquired the pie-shaped piece of land located on the 500 block of East Genesee Avenue, between the State of Michigan building and the Saginaw Branch of the Social Security Administration Office building from the City of Saginaw in 1998 for development into a park following the demolition of the former Feige building.

The park provides the community beautiful landscaping and a relaxing place to sit among several trees, bushes and thousands of perennials, raising the esthetic value of the local area.

A permanent commemorative sign was installed in the park in the spring of 2000 acknowledging the original contributors, including corporations and private supporters.

Work to
refurbish the fountains on the west end of the park was completed in August of 2004.  The fountains had been inoperable for approximately 15-20 years.  The perennial and annual plantings within the park are maintained by volunteers within the club and local citizens.  Volunteers are always being sought, so if you are interested please contact us today.

If you would like to donate any amount to the park for future plans and maintenance, please make out the
tax-deductible donation to Saginaw Community Foundation and mail to:
