Lions Recognize Past Presidents
To help kick off a new year of regular meetings, the Saginaw Downtown Lions Club took time to recognize several of the past presidents of the club at a luncheon held at the historic Saginaw Club in Downtown Saginaw.

The meeting was spearheaded by fellow Lion and past president Norm Moore.  Lion Moore spoke to the members at the afternoon meeting about the history of the club and of many of the presidents that have served in leading the club.  He also recognized the six members who also served as District Governor.

Many Lions returned back to the club for this special occasion, including former members, some who now reside out-of-state.

In attendance was our very own member, District Governor Bob Heft.  Lion Bob regaled his story of joining Lions while living in “that other state to the south,” and upon his return back home to Saginaw, transferring his membership to the Downtown Club.

The twenty-three past presidents in attendance shared stories during their leadership.  For all of them this included the Children’s Christmas Party and the Little Brown Jug football game.  But for some, it also included Golden Gloves Boxing, which the club sponsored for several years.
