The Delta Nu Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity

Sigma Alpha Iota History

On June 12, 1903 at the University School of Music in Ann Arbor, Michigan the first ever chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota was founded.  Credited with its founding were seven very distinguished women who thought it not robbery to form an organization specifically for all women who had a sincere interest in music:

MARY STORRS ANDERSON

ELIZABETH CAMPBELL

FRANCES CASPARI

NORA CRANE HUNT

LEILA FARLIN LAUGHLIN

GEORGINA POTTS

MINNIE DAVIS SHERRILL

Now with over a hundred chapters nationwide, Sigma Alpha Iota continues to grow and strive to uphold our founders' legacy all while making sure to do our best to further the development of music in America and throughout the World.
