An Ode to Vivekananda

On his B’Day(National Youth Day)

Suffocating was the atmosphere when thou hath born

Wretched was our youth society under boots of British Empire

Aimless was it like a rudderless boat

Meandering through the darkness of hopelessness & pessimism

In the midst of turmoil dominating our motherland

Visualizing our golden past

Instigating the youth to retrieve the lost glory

Vastness & importance of Hinduism & tolerance of other religion

Enriched the exuberance of youth with

Knowledge from thy fertile intellect

And thou became the elixir to our youth society

Negating the paraphernalia of British Rule

And orthodox downtrodden society thou enabled us to be enthusiastic

New waves of spiritual awakening was set by thee

Directing the youth to approach steadily to victory

And grasp the freedom uprooting all social evils.
