Vive, Peru
I went to Peru in 1997 on a band tour.
It was one of the most awesome trips
I have ever been on.  God really blessed us.
Here are some of my favorite pictures.

This is the cathedral in the town
of Arequipa.  The mayor of the town
greeted us personally and gave us
pins with the city seal on it.  He also
invited us to play a concert in the town
square that night.  We later found out that
he was not very friendly towards Seventh-
Day Adventists, which we all are.  After we
returned to the states, we found out that he
donated land and building materials for
several SDA school!  God works in awesome
ways.

This is the city of Cusco.  It is
very famous for its ruins.  It is
close to the Inca ruins of
Machu Pichu.  This picture was
taken from a train on the way up
to the famous ruins.

The ancient Inca ruins of Machu Pichu
with Hyuana Pichu in the background.

A small cave/tunnel close to the top
of Hyuana Pichu.  A great photo opp.

A tired group of adventurous mountain
climbers.  We climbed Hyuana Pichu,
a mountain towering over Machu Pichu.
If you look closely you will see me sitting
in the front of the group.

The floating islands on Lake Titicaca.
You had to be really careful not to stand
in one place for too long.  Your shoes got
really wet otherwise.  People actually live
on these "islands" made of reeds.  This
is one of the little lambs that runs loose
on the "island."

The Adventist school in Juliaca
gave us this rug.  It is handmade
from llama skins, and is a great
replica of the US seal.  Juliaca is
in the higlands and it was surprisingly
cold there.  Because it was so high,
it also made it hard to breath.

This was in a jungle village on the Amazon.
I felt like I had stepped into a National
Geographic Magazine.  Yes,the ladies did
go topless.  They did some native dances
and pulled some of us in on it. I'm in the
green shirt dancing in the front row.
Afterwards, they tried to get us to trade
our shirts for their goods.

I fell in love with this little boy.  I gave him a stick of gum and he followed me around the village.  He lives in a village where everyone is a Seventh-day Adventist.  It was really cool.

The final group shot.
Our last day in Peru.
