Mina is very much like Serena, or Serena is very much like Mina, since she came first. Mina is somewhat of a ditz at times, and isn't too great at her schoolwork, though considerable better than Serena. She has a guardian cat, Artemus. She is really exceptional at volleyball though, which makes up for her lack of enthusiasm about schoolwork.
Sailor V was around before even Sailor Moon. She was awakened about a year before the other scouts were. She went around in her school uniform with a mask on. She didn't used to have the red bow in her hair either, a boy one time told her that it looked good on her (he turned out to be a monster from the Negaverse, but oh well) and she's worn it in her hair ever since. She moonlighted around London, playing "cops and robbers" with Artemus by her side. In the manga, she also trained the other Sailor Senshi through the Sailor V video game. Every time one of them would do exceptionally well, an item would appear for them to keep. Luna also addressed Sailor V as "boss".
Sailor Venus is Sailor V, but this is what she became after she joined the rest of the scouts. Her uniform changed, and she lost the mask. She has metal based attacks (love CHAIN), which leads me to believe her element is metal, however it is said to be love since she is from the planet of love, Venus. She shouts "Venus Power!" or "Venus Star Power!" to transform into Sailor Venus. She is the true leader of the Sailors although that is not brought out as much in the anime as it is the manga. Sailor Venus also acts as a decoy, she is very similar-looking to Sailor Moon, and when needed will pose as her. She did once in SMS when Kaolinite (pronounced KAY-OR-IN-ITE) stole Serena's transformation brooch.
Sailor Venus recieved a power up to become Super Sailor Venus from Pegasus in the anime, but from a human Artemus in the manga. She has more love based attacks, so maybe her element is metal AND love/beauty?? Who knows? Anyway, she shouts "Venus Crystal Power, make up!" to become Super Sailor Venus in the 4th and 5th seasons of Sailor Moon.
Mina, like the rest of her friends is also a princess. Her castle is the Magellan Castle on Venus, at least during the Silver Millenium. Probably in the future of Crystal Tokyo, she will also have a castle on Venus.
