Alan
Alan is one of the keepers of the Doom Tree (Makaiju). He shows up along with Ann right after the defeat of Queen Beryl, forcing Luna to re-awaken Serena and eventually the other scouts (they all had no memories of the Scouts after the last fight with Beryl). He seeks energy from the Earth to keep the Doom Tree alive. Without the Doom tree (a parasite that kills planets) Alan and Ann will both perish from lack of energy. Alan poses as a student (Alan Granger) at Serena's school along with his lover Ann. To the humans they are brother and sister. Alan takes an immediate liking to Serena and Ann gets very upset, until she sees Darien. While gathering energy he also pursues Serena, and tries to win her over.
He uses a flute to turn tarot cards into cardians.
His Japanese name is Ail, and poses as student Ginga Seijuurou.
Ann
Ann is the other keeper of the Doom tree (along with Alan). She seems to be the weaker of the two because she runs out of energy more often than Alan. She poses as Alan's sister in Serena's school, while they are in fact lovers. Alan always lets her pick the "Cardians" to collect the energy from the humans for the doom tree. When Alan met Serena he immediately began to like her and Ann was not happy about this to say the least. She was very angry about this until she first saw Darien, and immediately began to pursue him. She is always competing with Serena for Darien's attention.
She can turn tarot cards into cardians.
Her Japanese name is Ann, and poses as student Ginga Natsumi.
