My Brother It seems as if it were only yesterday that my husband left for boot camp. Tears streamed down my face as I kissed him for the last time, before he became a United States Sailor. Although it seemed the time would never pass, looking back it has gone by quite rapidly. We said our good-byes, not knowing what the future had in store for us. After A-school in May of 2000 Ernie came home and we were married on May 22nd of 2000. One week to the day from our wedding Ernie had to go over seas and I haven't seen him since. A year has passed and many things have changed. One thing that will ALWAYS remain the same is my undying love for him. Although we are seperated by land, air and sea we are still one.  I love him more  and more with each passing day. There is nothing perfect about our marriage, it's just that neither of us are willing to give up the fight. We talk when we can but that dosen't take the place of feeling his heart beat next to mine. There is nothing easy about this life style I have chosen, however communication, and faith in God are the key elements that have kept me going this long. I love him and miss him always, but it's because of men and women like him who stand watch and keep world peace that I may sleep at night, knowing my safety and freedom are being protected.

Jacelyn's 9-11-01 Story WIFE OF A SAILOR'S CREED
I am the wife of a United States Sailor.
Although I wear no rank I must obey those appointed over me.
I will open up my home to fellow Sailor's and their families passing through.
I will wave good-bye to my husband with a Smile on my face, as his ship leaves the pier.
I am the wife of a United States Sailor who will recieve only cheerful mail while on deployment.
I will be mommy and daddy, carpenter and plumber, nurturer and disiplinarian while my husband is out at sea.
Although I don't understand why he must leave so often for long periods at a time, I WILL  NOT question the U.S.N.
I know I will get little, if any, credit for keeping the home fires burning.
My pay is none for a job well done.
When his ship pulls into the pier, I will greet him with a tear streaked smile on my face.
I will hold my Sailor tightly, until the U.S.N says I must let go.
I am the PROUD WIFE of a UNITED STATES SAILOR!!!
