The Pious Exercise of the Living Rosary
" The object of the Living Rosary is to obtain from the mercy of God, through the intercession of Our Lady of the Rosary, the preservation of the Faith in Catholic countries, the conversion of sinners, the confirmation of the just, and the exaltation of the Holy Church. Next to Our Lady of the Rosary, the Association honors and recognizes as its mediatrix with God, the illustrious Virgin and Martyr Saint Philomena, named by the sovereign Pontiff Protectress of the Living Rosary. The fraternal connection that exists among the associates of the Living Rosary, by giving them the opportunities of exercising the virtues of charity and zeal, contributes likewise to the increase of their piety and at the same time gives them fresh motives of encouragement and edification. The brevity of the exercise of the Living Rosary puts it within the reach of the faithful of every age and every condition.
"The Vicar of Jesus Christ, Gregory XVI, has commanded Saint Philomena to be our advocate and protectress. 0 Powerful Philomena, you are the 'Guardian Angel' of the Association. Obtain for us the gifts of the Holy Ghost in order that we will be given the intelligence to know the Will of God, the science of loving Him, the wisdom of discerning what pleases or displeases Him, the fear of saddening Him, and the strength to obey Him. Saint Philomena will obtain for us all that we ask of her, as she is under obedience to the Vicar of Jesus Christ and always a child of Holy Mother the Church. By her intercession, we will be forgiven and loved by the Queen of Virgins and Martyrs. All the associates are invited to join their intentions so that the Queen of Heaven and her well-loved daughter, Saint Philomena, may accept all our hearts and present them 'like a crown of love' to Our Lord Jesus Christ to embellish His triumph and that of the Immaculate Heart of Mary."
-Ven. Pauline-Marie Jaricot
I ask thee, Saint Philomena, to multiply these decades a million times and send them down upon this world to bring about the Triumph of the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary!
