| Frequently Asked Questions Q. Did the Master Bowler create the Alley? A. No. From all that I have been able to determine, the Alley has always been in existence and always will. The parts of the Alley that we see may change, but the Alley itself is infinite and timeless. Just as a ball in an earthly alley cannot know of the snack bar or lounge, so we cannot concieve of the length and breadth of the greater Alley. Scientists have their opinion as to the beginning and the end of the Alley, but science is always subject to revision. The Master Bowler is the supreme Bowler in the Alley and the one who cares for those who Bowl with a longing to learn and grow. Q. Are there other Bowlers in the Alley besides the Master? A. There are many great Bowlers who have left this life and continue to play in the greater Alley. They Bowl on a higher level, continuing to improve their Game and have a more direct relationship with the Master Bowler. Do not be mistaken, however, that these Bowlers have the skill and omniscience of the Master Bowler. All are in the same League, and know their role better than we can. If you sense the presence of another Bowler other than the Master seeking to guide you, it is a deception. Q. How do I know when the Master's Hand is upon me? A. It is an unmistakable feeling, and evidenced in the circumstances of your life. Is everything falling into place suddenly? Does your course seem clear despite the apparent obstacles? Do you just "know" that you will be victorious? If you can answer "yes" to these questions, then the Master's Hand is guiding you. Release your grip and allow yourself to be guided, for it is our own interference and impatience which moves us toward the Gutter. Have faith, dear Bowler, and stay the course down the Lane. you are headed for a Strike! Q. There seem to be many types of Bowlers, and some have rituals they follow before they Bowl which they believe will bring them luck. Is there any value in this? A. I have seen them, too. There are those who kiss the ball before they throw it; others whisper to it or have any number of other superstitions they follow. This is a source of controversy, so I am sure my answer will not be accepted by some. I feel that superstition is a bondage. A great philosopher ( and a Bowler in his own right) once said, "When you believe in thing that you don't understand, then you suffer", and I agree with this statement. A Bowler should not feel bound by rites and rituals, for it clouds the higher relationship with the Master. I respect the right of others to practice their own way of Bowling, but it is not the point of bowling to complicate one's life. The keys to Bowling well are focus, control and relaxing into the Master's Hand. |
