                                                             1998                                                                                    1999

Welcome to the internet home of the 1998, 1999, & 2000 Region13C Champion, Warba Knights. The Knights are members of Minnesota's Amateur Baseball Association and play in Northern Minnesota's Region 13C.

                   July 22nd, 2000
The Knights won their third consecutive Region 13C crown with two wins in one day against Bovey and Floodwood in a single elimination tournament held in Marble. The hitting was potent for the Knights along with their two ace pitchers combining on a 7 inning shutout in the championship game. The Knights will travel to either Ada or Crookston to play in a regional playoff with three other teams as their quest for a State Tournament birth continues.

                        August 5th, 2000
The Knights lost two straight as their dreams of participating in their first ever State Tournament failed. The pitching of Jamie Steinberg and Jason Godnai (Draftee) yielded excellent outings for both games, but critical defensive errors gave the opposing teams (Thief River Falls & Ada) enough run support for their respective clubs in order to beat the Knights and their terrible hitting. The Knights left 16 runners on base in the first game as the total reached 28 for both games. The Knights scored a total of 3 runs in this regional tournament which would only be enough run support for a baseball team that has Randy Johnson & Pedro Martinez on their rosters. The team's future is in jeopardy as their league will fold after the season ends. The Knights could have just played their last game in franchise history unless they do their homework (paperwork) and move up to Class B status into the Arrowhead league.

                          March 24th, 2001
At the present time the Warba Knights have officially declared themselves a "non-functional" team going into this coming season.  The Knights are unable to field a team along with a coaching staff.  Three of their Star Players filed for free agency and are testing the market for bigger and better opportunities. They felt the team needed three more key players to make a State Championship run, but after 3 years of Regional Playoff disappointment, the team has yet to achieve certain goals: 1) More Talented players 2) Class B Status and 3) A State Tournament Birth. While unable to attain key free agent players, the Knights feature a weak farm system of rookies for them this coming season. Like all athletes, most players want what everyone wants, and that's a Championship. In Conclusion, weak players & weak competition equal no chance of a ring when tournament time arrives showcasing competitive teams. In tribute to the Warba Knights, Hats off, you've represented Northern Minnesota Baseball with pride dignity the past 3 years.
Future updates will be posted on this web site of Knights' baseball players and how they are doing in other leagues around the area.
