Week 1: In week 1 of my research project I read documetations about comblock and comblock components from prior group. The BaseBand Interface, the modulator and demodulator, the digital to analog and analog to digital converters. These are the components sponsored by Comblock Corp. that make up the Transmitter and receiver unit of my research. Also I learned how to use the software that enables you to modify setting such as register setting for transmitting and recieving.
Week 2: In week 2 of my research project my group faced issue of establishing a connection with the comblocks TCP/IP block # 5001. After countless efforts towards resetting register after register with hex values that we presumed were correct nothing worked. We referred back to comblocks websites value and set them according to ours. Then we troubleshooted and found out that the wireless router wasnt allowing connection through the lan lines.
Week 3: During week 3 I tried to focus on the Visual Basic Console that was designed by a prior group. The console detects the freq. generatered from the trans. to the reciever. Then it allows the user to modify and change the freq. settings. Also I was able to test the Arbitrary Waveform Generator. AKA Com - 8001. Modifying the registers for this comblock was applicable through Bin. files that actually generated a freq. waveform.
Week 4: In week 4 the task accomplished was getting the Comblock Console to work with the transmitters registry setting. I use the Spectrum Analyzer to check the freqs. generated and was able to set th?e 7 freq. registers to any freq. I wanted. Using the comblock console I select which freqs, from the ones I stored in the registers, was to be transmitted to the reciever. Then verified it with the Spectrum analyzer.
