NICK RAY was born in Gillingham, Kent (UK) in 1973 and began piano lessons at the age of four. After a good general education he turned seriously to music and entered Trinity College of Music, London, where he gained 1st class honours in piano and won prizes both for performance and composition. He pursued his composition studies at Cambridge University (St. John's College) as a pupil of Alexander Goehr. He remains active as a pianist and composer and teaches at a comprehensive school in Eastleigh.
