Town of Morhin
History:

Morhin’s fishermen retrieve large catches from the waters to the west.  This fishery, combined with shoreline grasslands, make Morhin a provider of salted meats to inland towns.  A tidal flat provides the means for a lucrative pottery work in town as well.  Lumber from trees that grow near the coast is used as the frame for most of adobe buildings in Morhin.

Buildings:

Temple of Chelad
Chelad in his incarnation as “Soother of the Storms” is worshipped here, along with Edalirin.  Local tradition holds that if a fisherman wishes a prosperous year, he must cut out a portion of the net he has used and attach it to the west (seaward) wall of the temple.  Some fishermen have attached nets with precious gems, some with seashells.  The result is an unplanned but extraordinary mosaic of net of various colors, gems and shells which occupies this portion of the temple.

Priest’s Residence
The priest’s residence also used as a school for those residents who wish their children to learn there.

Fish Market
The fish market provides communal cleaning and salting areas for fishermen  bringing in catches.  In addition, prepared fish for trade are stored here until their caravan departs.

Cenda Pottery
Inran Cenda uses the clay from the tidal flats as well as salt water to create a distinctive salt-glaze pottery.  Household items, as well as some larger art works are created here.

Abumas Weaving
Zaar Abumas and his family use locally grown wool to spin, dye and weave fine cloth.  Some of this cloth is used for clothing which is also sold here.

Q’rald Sailmaker
Rapp Q’rald makes and repairs sails, as well as rope and other rigging for boats.

Ibahar Boats
Traiq Ibahar uses local woods to make small fishing boats.  The boats are rolled to the water on an ingenious track he’s created that leads over the salt flat to the water.

Afea Salter
Mor Afea uses salt to preserve mutton as well as fish.  Salt is also traded on caravans to distant towns.

Aric Bakery
Pora Aric grinds flour and bakes breads, pies and assorted sweets.

Zephyr Inn
The Zephyr Inn is a relatively new structure.  With increased trade, it houses merchants from the caravans, as well as other passing strangers.  Wal Afea (brother of Mor) runs the inn, along with his family.

Qaenidd Stable
Yost Qaenidd cares for the horses and camels of passing caravans, as well as local merchants and traders.

Nydae Trader
Yusuf Nydae and his family specialize in brokering the dealings in salt, meats and other goods for those who wish their services.  He doesn’t store much in this building, relying on the merchant to store the goods until the caravan is arranged.

Other Structures

Dock
The dock is home to the fishing fleet of Morhin.

Morhin Well
This well is deep to avoid the salt contamination of the nearby ocean.
