Town of Ril'per
History:

Haunted Ril’per, as it is sometimes called,  lies a distance north of the swamplands, and to the east of ruins that speak of an earlier, greater age of men.  To the north and west are dune seas.  The town exists because of several mines that produce not only gems, but precious and semiprecious minerals and metals.  The main difficulty is that there is precious little water nearby.  Two wells support the miners and visiting caravans, and those are carefully monitored by the priests of Chelad, whose temple dominates the town.  The buildings here are often constructed from stone that has been moved during mining.

Buildings:

Temple of Chelad
The temple is rather modest in size, built of stone that is dross from the mines, veined with brilliant blue or green in places.  The floor of the temple is inlaid with a pattern of gemstones that miners have dedicated to worship.

Turquoise Inn
This inn, owned and operated by the Wanar family, serves the traders who come in search of the mineral wealth mined near Ril’per.

Turquoise Stable
A stable owned by the Wanar family, operated in conjunction with the inn.

Zanir Blacksmith
A large smithy, owned by Zanir Dustaan.  Zanir has several youths apprenticed to him.  The smithy can serve for repairs to wagons, mining implements and other necessities.  Zanir also makes a few specially crafted weapons inlaid with precious minerals.

Norah Foods
Norah Belleme specializes in pastries and breads, but the shop sells all sorts of foods.  Some of the foodstuffs offered here are purchased from caravans.

Belleme Silver
Adnan Belleme crafts silver and gems from the nearby mines into objects both precious and functional. He has created gem-encrusted lamps and dining utensils, as well as jewelry.

Gem Market
Here in the gem market, independent miners, as well as conglomerates, can trade their mineral wealth.  Individual cubby and storage spaces are available.

Einah Leather
Einah Dustaan  creates harness for use in mines as well as in the caravans.  He lives in this building with his family.

Desert Robes
The Sorkah family owns and operates this shop, where woven cloth is transformed into clothing.  The cloth is imported with the caravans, and trinkets purchased from the gem markets are often incorporated into the design.  In addition, more functional clothing may be bought here.

Priest’s Quarters
In addition to housing the priest of Chelad, this building is used as a meeting place, as well as a school for those children whose parents desire them to be educated.

Other Structures:

Well of Life
The first and oldest well, it was this water source that allowed the first miners to settle in the area of Ril’per.  As the town grew, it was incorporated as an important fixture.  The well has never run dry, even as the population of the town increased.

Deep Well
The second well dug for Ril’per, this was paid for by Israk Wanar, to support the Turquoise Inn and stables, though water is freely shared among those of the town.  The well is dug deep into the bedrock, and water is lifted from it with a rotating pulley bucket system.
