Memories last (sequel to Rumors)

It’s been 10 long years since Li left Sakura with that nasty rumor to think about. Li never forgot Sakura, actually he thought about her everyday. Sakura had almost forgetting Li, when she found a letter from him. It read:

Dear my Sakura,

I have never forgotten you, or that awful rumor that was spread and separated us. I think Meiline spread it, because she was a little over excited about it. I am terribly sorry that I never told you about our engagement, because if I had told you, we might not have ended up this way. Please forgive me for all the pain that I caused you, and call me.

Sakura started crying, she got this letter just before her and Madison moved away, this letter was the reason she moved out in the first place. She never really wanted to leave, so she moved really close to her house, and the closest one was right next to Li’s old apartment. Madison had gotten home, "Sakura, are you home?"

"Ya, I’m in here Madison." Madison slowly climbed the stairs to find Sakura crying, "Sakura not again, what happened this time?"

"Look what I found." She handed Madison the letter, and Madison read it. Her jaw dropped, "Sakura I’m so sorry, I didn’t know it was this." Sakura has become a singer competing in Triathalons, being an athlete meant that Sakura’s body grew into a perfect shape. Every guy wanted her, but she wanted non of them, she has been named the singing man hater. Sakura has been really stressed out lately, all her songs seem to remind her of Li and her capturing the cards together, falling in love, and the tragic rumor. (For all that forget, Madison spread a rumor that Li was cheating on Sakura with Meiline, and told everyone about the engagement) Sakura has had a lot of head-ache’s lately except when she sings. When she sings her problems just drift away, and she hardly ever cries when she sings. Madison has put Sakura to bed and is standing in the kitchen thinking hard. ‘Has Li forgotten Sakura yet? I should use my old address and send him a letter, Sakura wouldn’t want him to know our new address.’ So she sent him a letter asking him about himself, and she got back a lot of things she didn’t expect. He was moving back down and wanted to speak with her. He had no clue they were going to be neighbors. ‘This is bad very bad, bad, bad, bad, I can’t believe it, he’s moving back into his old building, we will be neighbors, and he won’t even know it, I hope he doesn’t come over to introduce himself, it’s not like we live in the building or anything’ She was panicking. Sakura came down stairs to see Madison panicking and slapped her gently, What is wrong Madison?"

"Nothing, nothing, nothing, I uh I went shopping and so much excitement no much I got to go now bye Sakura see you later."

"Uhu ya bye Madison be back soon." Madison never heard her and kept running. ‘I wonder what’s got her going like that’ ‘Sakura is so going to be stressed after she see’s him.’ ‘Wow girls act funny, poodin Sakura is so good to me.’ The house was again filled with Sakura mopping around the house holding her head. Kero flew down the stairs, "Sakura are you going to be alright? Maybe if you stopped crying and thinking of the BRAT your head-ache’s will go away."

"You’re right Kero, I have to get over him."

"Besides you have a concert coming up at that place we used to eat lunch at. Maggie was awesome." (Oh I forgot to tell you guys, Maggie decided to open a restaurant and gift shop) Sakura decided she was going to go shopping. Madison was home when she got home, and looked really pissed, "Sakura, I know you’ve been having these head-aches, but skipping out on rehearsal to go shopping is not a good thing."

"Oh Madison I’m so sorry." Madison gave her friend a big hug, "I’m glad you’re doing other things than mopping around the house." Kero laughed and flew around their heads kinda dancing. So like weeks passed and Li moved down to his old apartment. Sakura had no clue, but Li found out that Sakura moved out from her father. Mr. Avalon didn’t tell Li where they moved to, because Sakura did request it. Li got a job at Maggie’s, and Sakura’s concert was coming up, but her band went by the names flower power. Sakura was Cherry Blossom, Madison was Mongolia, Rita was Marguerite, Chelsea was Freesia, Nikki was Crape Myrtle, and Zachary, the sound system guy, was Cluster amaryllis. If you haven’t noticed, they are each their favorite flower. Sakura and her band were rehearsing, when the guy unloading came in the building, Zachary was setting some stuff up behind her, so note that. Sakura’s eyes were red from crying as usual and she was just about to start singing when she felt a familiar aura, she looked to where it was coming from and saw a boy, she new it was Li instantly. (If you haven’t noticed, Li is the unloading guy.) Sakura looked at him and recognized him right away, that blew a fuse inside her and she fell backwards, Zachary caught her, and just shook her, "Sakura wake up, wake up Sakura." Li new it was his fault and instinctively ran up to her. "Is she alright?"

"I think she’ll be fine, to much stress, if I could get a hold of that Li I would, I would, I don’t know what I would do, but it’s his fault she’s like this."

"Are you her boyfriend?"

"No, for some reason she doesn’t date, I feel sorry for her." ‘I had no clue that Sakura was the leads singer of flower power, but I should have noticed the lead singer went by cherry blossom, Sakura loved cherry blossoms, I didn’t even sense her’ Kero had taught Sakura how to hide her power, and she did it very well. "Do you remember Li?"

"Of course, lately I’ve been mad because well for like the last month Sakura has been worked up about an old letter she found, I mean if she wasn’t already stressed out enough, why am I telling you this?"

"Did you used to be Li’s friend?"

"Well last month I would have said he is my best friend, and I probably still see him as my best friend, who left."

"Hi Zachary."

"How did you know my name? Li is that you?" Li nodded. "Oh my god, I can’t believe it." He hugged his long lost friend, surprisingly, Li hugged back. (Haha ruined the tough guy getup hehe ^_^) Zachary then punched Li, "What was that for?!"

"You should have told her when you had the chance, now look what that did to her." Li bowed his head, "I-I-I Sakura." Madison came in to see her best friend laying on the floor, "What happened to her?"

"Too much stress."

"Oh no, I told her to get over him."

"H’s right there." Zachary pointed to Li, "Oh my god, you ass whole!" Madison slapped him. (sorry I try not to swear, it just happened) Li didn’t budge, "It’s your fault she’s like this I can’t stand to see her like this, and you made her like this!" Madison was beginning to repeat herself, "You made her like this, it’s your fault she’s like this!"

"Madison calm down!!" Zachary had a small handle on things, a very small handle. "Sakura will be fine, Li what are you doing?"

"Her face went white when she saw me, and I just checked, she’s not breathing."

"What!" Madison had tears in her eyes, "Sh-sh-she isn’t breathing?" Li shook his head, "We have to get an ambulance right away, It’s your fault!" She slapped him again, Li felt worse than he ever did before, except for the day that Sakura walked out of the class room. The ambulance hadn’t arrived yet, but Sakura had started breathing again, and she was awake. Li left the moment her eyes opened, he didn’t want to cause any more damage. "Where’s Li?"

"He left."

"Why?"

"Madison sort of sent him away." Zachary walked in, "Too bad the others weren’t here, they’d have a cow, "Why?"

"You weren’t breathing."

"How did you find out?"

"LI!" Madison screamed. (Spazz) "Really?" Her eyes suddenly brightened. ‘I had no clue he really cared, maybe he’s still available, what am I saying he was engaged to Meiline’ Madison sighed ‘I new she couldn’t stay mad at him for long, I better find him’"Madison, I hate Li, how come he never told me about the engagement?"

"Probably afraid that you would react the way you did."

"But I would have been a little more calmer if he had told me himself, I found out from a grade 9, we were in grade 8, and me and Li were going out for like a year and a half."

"I know, if he had told you when you first got together, then you probably would be married but now."

"You really think so?"Madison nodded, every one new that no matter what they were destined for each other, and it may take a little longer, but they will be together, at least that plan was in Madison’s head. ‘He didn’t spread the rumor ,and I do know why he never told us about his engagement, so I forgive him, the only thing to do now, is to get Sakura to forgive him’ Li was driving down the street when American women, sung by Lenny Cravats came on the radio,

Li disagreed, ‘I want my woman back’ Sakura really missed Li, but she was still so mad at him. The band only had a few songs, but they loved to sing songs by other people, so before they sang them for an audience, they told the people that the song is by so and so, and that the song doesn’t belong to them, and not to sue them, "Sakura start with stronger by Brittney Spears."

"Alright Madison but your idea isn’t working, your losing your touch."

"No I know exactly what I’m doing." Sakura giggled and everyone felt so happy to see Sakura smile, it was something to make them feel better in elementary school, but now it’s a rare treat. Sakura sang the song everyone clapped. (All 5 of them lol) Sakura felt much better, stronger made her feel stronger, like she could do anything, and it’s one of the few things that kept her going. By the end of the night, the restraunt was full, Sakura felt Li’s aura again and went to hide in the darkness, because he was coming. Kero flew up beside her, and he wasn’t hiding his power, Li found them. Li looked at the ground and said, "H-h-h-hi I-I-I’m sorry." Sakura was shocked she took a step back, "For what?"

"It’s my fault you fainted today."

"It was too much stress, I told you that already."

"Well, I still I’mnotoveryouyet." He blurted out, she ran off yelling, "I can’t believe you said that, you’ll see what I feel soon!"

"Haha you brat, you do know you helped her to become a lead singer of a band, but you did make her have all these head-aches."

"But-but-but stuffed animal."

"I"M NOT A STUFFED ANIMAL!!" Li snorted and Kero flew after Sakura, "You’ll be sorry kid, when Sakura doesn’t forgive you, you’ll regret anything you’ve ever done!" He called behind as he flew off. Li new what he meant, Li had to do a lot of work to get Sakura to forgive him. On stage Sakura was smiling and waving, the other girls were smiling and waving. "Hi I’d like to start off with a song by Brittney Spears, we all think she’s an amazing singer, so our first song is Stronger." The music started, and soon she finished. Li new why Madison chose that song for her. Soon the concert was over, the girls and Zachary started to clean up. Maggie walked in, "You don’t have to help us clean up, we’ve got it."

"Well they made the mess while we were singing, so we should help." Sakura stated. Maggie smiled and let them help clean up. Sakura was sweeping up when she bumped into Li, she new who she bumped into and swept away as fast as she could, but he ran after her knowing she wouldn’t come with him. He grabbed her arm and covered her mouth so she couldn’t scream, all was going well until the cards flew out of her pocket and started flying at him. "Hey! Wait no! Sakura tell them to back off." ‘I would if you’d uncover my mouth’ She looked at him with a know it all look, "Oh ya, but you have to promise not to scream, run, or attract attention." She nodded and he uncovered her mouth, "Hey you guys, I’m alright, you don’t have to be so aggressive. Star Cards Stop!" The cards stopped and went back into the pocket they came out of. "What do you want?"

"Come with me, I have to talk to you." He looked at her, "Please?" For some reason she couldn’t resist that face, "Alright, I’ll come with you, but you have to answer some of my questions too."

"Deal." She fallowed him to the roof, and then he gave her a pleading look, "Alright, Fly release!" She grabbed him by the hands, and he told her where to go. When they arrived about two feet above it she dropped him, "Oops, I’m so not sorry." He stared at her ‘did I make her this mean?’ She new what he was thinking, because she read his mind, "Don’t worry normally I’m to busy crying to be mean, and I only act like that to you."

"How did you?"

"I can read minds now." He tried again to sense her power to see how much she’s strengthened her power, "I can’t sense your power."

"I know, I’ve learned to hide it, Kero taught it to me. How’s Meiline?"

"I didn’t marry her." Sakura jumped a little. ‘He didn’t marry Meiline?’ "Well then who did you marry?" He looked to the ground, "No one." She gasped, "Why? Why didn’t you move on?"

"I told you I never forgot you, or stopped loving you." She was crying now, "I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make you cry." He tried to move a little closer to comfort her, but she moved farther away, "Li, why didn’t you tell me about your engagement?"

"I didn’t think you’d want to be with me if I was already promised to someone else."

"But it was arranged by your parents? It’s not like you planned to marry her your self"

"I still didn’t think you’d react like that." She looked away, he looked down, she moved closer to him slowly and quietly, "Li." He looked at her, and she kissed him on the lips, at first he sort of resisted but then returned the kiss passionately. "I should have listened to you a little more than I did."

"You made more sense than I would have." She looked at him, eyes glittering, "I never forgot you either, but...."

"But?"

"I just can’t" She ran and tripped falling from the building, "SAKURA!!! NOOOO!" She came flying up crying. The light from the cards made her look like an angel, Li fell in love all over again, but her wings failed and she started falling again, "I can’t let her, ah" Wings sprouted from his back, "Sakura I want to help you, but it’s our choice. Do you want me to help you?"

"I want to, I just, I’m confused."

She nearly hit the ground so he just grabbed her. He was to close to the ground that the wings just cushioned the fall. They were lying on the ground, Sakura crossed over Li’s stomach. Madison and Zachary herd them yell, and ran outside. "Sakura? Ah Sakura are you ok? Sakura? Sakura? Wake up!"

"It’s no use looks like they fell from a pretty high place, but not the roof."

"What?"

"If they fell from the roof, they wouldn’t be breathing, and splattered everywhere. It’s almost like they jumped out a window, but there aren’t any windows on this side of the building, and they couldn’t have been flying."

"You’d be surprised Zak, you’d be surprised." Zachary scratched his head and called for an ambulance, to take them away. Sakura woke up in the hospital and looked at the bed next to her. ‘The last thing I remember is falling and then hitting something and then darkness. What’s Li doing here, unless, he didn’t save me did he?’ Li stirred and then woke up, "Where?"

"Hospital."

"Huh?"

"I’m clueless too." No one not even a nurse was in the room, "I wonder where everyone is?"

"Don’t worry Sakura, I’m sure when they find out your awake they’ll come." She kind of felt bad that he didn’t have many friends anymore. "L..." The nurse walked in, "Oh your both awake." Sakura half smiled and laid back. ‘How can it be, I think I, I think I feel something for Li’ Sakura’s stomach was killing her, and Li’s back was just as bad, "I can’t feel my legs."

"Sakura it’ll be alright, I think."

"How do you know, I am so sore." She couldn’t bare it anymore and rolled out of bed, "Ow. That hurt. I’m going to complain until it doesn’t hurt anymore." She looked around her, "What am I saying, I just want to go home and be with Kero."

"Are you alright?"

"Hoe? Oh Li, you should have stayed in your bed, I can get up on my own."

"I’m so sure, ok try." She tried and fell in pain, "Ow ow ow ow ow!"

"Told ya, come one I’ll try and help." He limped over to her and lifted her with trouble, "OW!" They fell in to their beds, "That was hard."

"Why did you have to roll out of the bed in the first place?"

"I didn’t mean to." He growled a little ad she just frowned, "Hey squirt!"

"Tori don’t call me that!"

"Whatever." He walked over and sat in the chair beside Sakura’s bed. "What you look familiar," He said pointing to Li, "Ah the Gaki!"

"Don’t call him that!"

"What you still like him?" Sakura looked down, "I don’t know." Tori didn’t know what to say, "Well what happened."

"What?"

"Why are you in the hospital?"

"Oh, well I fell from a, um a building, and um..."

"What a building!!"

"Hehe, ya and Li saved me sort of."

"What do you mean sort off."

"I fell first and broke her fall."

"Oh." He felt very awkward. Sakura was looking away from her so called one true love, and Li was just looking a the wall. "So your alright right?"

"I’m sore."

"Where?"

"My tummy. Now I want to go to sleep out!"

"Ya ya, I’m leaving, stay away from her kid."

"I’m not a kid!" He said throwing a pillow at Tori, but he missed Tori had already shut the door. "Dam I missed."

"You are such a child." He smirked ‘getting her mad is beginning to get fun’ She looked out the window and stuff, pictures, colors were flipping through her mind. She just started crying for nothing from what Li could see, "Why are you crying?" She couldn’t hear him, voices to go with the flashbacks was all she could hear. "Sakura?"

"Sakura?"

"..........."

"SAKURA!"

".............." Sakura was still crying in her trans. Li was getting worried ‘is she alright?’ got up as best he could and limped over to her bed. He sort of fell over onto her bed beside her ut soon got up right. "Sakura?" He grabbed her shoulders making her look him in the eyes. He was shocked at what he saw ‘her eyes they’re so..........lifeless’ He nearly dropped her. "Sakura you have to wake up!" He started shaking her, her eyes went back to normal and she looked at Li, "I.......I you left me with that horrible rumor to live with, do you know what I’ve been through?"

"Ya I can read minds now, of course not."

"The popular girls.."

"Weren’t you popular?"

"The sluty poplar girls never let me hear the last of it, it was either your boyfriend was cheating, or, your boyfriend left you, or even, you weren’t good enough for him." And she fainted into his arms. "Not the way I expected us to get closer but, it’s close." He was in so much pain that if he moved he would do more damage, so he just sat there holding her up. She started stirring which made it even harder fro him to keep still, "No, you can’t have them. Don’t leave me. Return to your power confined. What’s going on? Li we have to talk. Am I to mean to deserve a boyfriend I can trust? Why. He’s leaving for Hong Kong. I I’m so confused, so mad. Li, I love you and always will." She was going through so many flashbacks that she couldn’t handle it, she started saying what was happening in the flash back. Li herd every word and didn’t know what she was dong until return to your power confined. He new bits and pieces of what happened with the rumor, and that Sakura still loved him. "She loved me."

"Li he’s back I I still remember. Oh Li if you only knew. I do still love you Li." She cried some more and then started again, "Alright I’ll come with you, but you have to answer my questions too." Li was getting annoyed with listening to her, so he decided to use a special technique to get into her mind. "Where....am I? Sakura?"

"Hoe, Li? What are you doing here?"

"I wanted to make sure you were alright. And you were talking in your sleep." She nodded and looked back at her random bunch of flashbacks, "Don’t worry normally I’m to busy crying to be mean, and I only act like that around you. I can read minds now. I’ve learned to hide it. He didn’t marry Meiline? Why didn’t you tell me about your engagement? I just can’t. I want to, I just, I’m confused. I wonder where everyone is? I can’t feel my legs. Ow. I just want to go home and be with Kero. I can get up on my own. I don’t know." She was talking with the flashbacks knowing exactly what was happening. "You are such a child. You left me" She said turning around, the flashbacks were starting all over again, he watched them for a bit and looked to find those same emerald eyes that he loved so, glaring at him, "What are you doing in my mind, this is my punishment." Tears were rolling down her face. "Your..punishment?"

"I used my powers while hiding them, and in front of someone. I told you about my newest powers, and I was even thinking of using them on you. All worth solitude, and watching my most painful memories."

"They’re all about you and me."

"I know, you left me and that made me feel pain, and anger, I never forgot you either, I moved because of you." He took a step back and fell over. "My back the pains gone."

"I know it’s my sub-conscious mind, which means no physical pain."

"So if we got in a fight, we wouldn’t feel the scratches and stuff?"

"No." She turned back to the memories, and then the part when they kissed she shuddered and tried to run away, but the flashbacks kept appearing right in front of her. She was going insane, "Can’t handle, pain, I’m ow, ah, I can’t, need to get away, can’t stay here, leave me alone, I can’t handle it." She stopped and realized what was happening, "Im, I’m going insane." She was huddled in a ball, Li came up and kneeled beside her. "Sakura, you aren’t insane, and you never will be, I’ll make sure we get out of here." She looked at him and ran off. ‘He can’t see me like this, I’m losing my mind, the only place I have right now.’ She didn’t stop till her leg just collapsed. "Ow, I have to really stop doing this. Hey I felt pain, I still do, but I thought you couldn’t feel pain." She started running towards where she sensed Li’s powers, but they were so weak compared to hers, that she couldn’t keep track of where it was coming from. ‘Li where are you? I know he can sense me’ She stopped hiding her power, and a burst of light came from her direction. She screamed because her ankle hurt and Li came running fallowing that huge power he sensed. ‘I’m coming to save you Sakura, but...’ he stopped running, "Does she still hate me? I can’t take that chance, if she really does want me to help her, I have to go." He started running again, looking at the different flashbacks she has stored inside her mind. Her ankle was killing her, "Ow, why does it hurt so much?"

"Sakura!"

"Li?" He came into view smiling, "Of course."

"What took you so long, it didn’t seem like you were that far away."

"I was a little busy thinking. Where is that power coming from?" She once again hid her power, "I couldn’t sense your power very well, so I stopped hiding my power and let you find me. And my ankle was to sore to go on."

"So that power was you?" She nodded, "I thought you were in trouble!"

"Well my ankle hurt."

"Wait your ankle hurts?" She nodded, "Then you were wrong." She bowed her head and he knew he hurt her feelings, "Still so sensitive?" She glared at him, "I’ll take that as a yes." She growled and he stared to moved back slowly. "You can be very scary."

"How do you think I got my power so high?"

"I don’t even want to know." She just looked back at the screen, "These were always my worst memories, but I don’t care anymore." The flashbacks paused then the background went white. "I can change this dull look, flower card, create card, make my memories look beautiful, Release!" The cards did their magic and the background was beautiful. "You have improved since I left."

"Well duh." She grabbed another card, "Hope please get us out of here. Release!" They woke up in the hospital beds, "Sakura you did it."

"You had doubts?" He looked away and she slapped him upside the head. "Ow you got stronger than I remember too." She giggled and looked him in the eye, "I have made a card."

"Really? What card?"

"The memory card."

"Let me guess, it shows you memories you want to see."

"Wow you got smarter. He laughed a little, "I wanted to show you a memory." She took the card out and he limped over to her bd and sat kinda leaning on her and her leaning back. "What memory?" She called the card up and it was the moment before they kissed.

"I still didn’t think you’d react like that." She looked away, he looked down, she moved closer to her slowly and quietly, "Li." He looked at her, and she kissed him on the lips, at first he sort of resisted but then returned the kiss passionately.

"Why did you show me that memory?"

"Because out of all the memories I can remember that is my favorite."

"Sa-Sakura?"

"Yes?"

"Would you forgive me?" She didn’t know whether to forgive him or not, "I don’t know yet." He sighed and watched tv for a little while. "Hey go back to friends."

"No."

"But that’s the one when Joey tells Rachel he loves her."

"You obviously have seen it before."

"No I saw the previews."

"Well then I must watch it, who’s Rachel and who’s Joey?"

"Well you’ve never seen this have you?"

"No and I don’t want to watch it, let’s watch the taekwondo tournament."

"No friends."

"Tournament."

"Friends."

"Tournament."

"I’m glad you see it my way." He changed the channel grinning and laid back. She was furious and just sort of passed out, he looked at her and saw she was fast asleep. "She looks so peaceful." The next morning she was the first awake and found Li hanging over his bed, "He looks so cute in the morning, I’m feeling a lot better." He slowly woke up and fell out of bed, "Ow, well at least my back is feeling better, I wonder if Sakura’s awake."

"I’m awake, why would you care?"

"Oh you know why." She stuck her nose up and walked into the bathroom, "What I would give to have her forgive me."

"It’s all yours." He got up and walked by her into the bathroom, "Do you want me to walk you home after?" He said walking by, "I’m not sure."She thought for a little and yelled at the closed door, "Alright, but you’re not going to get me back in the hospital again are you?" She herd a stumble and giggled sitting down on her hospital bed, "Sigh I can’t believe I’m back here again."

"What do you mean again?"

"Hoe, I didn’t think you were listening to me."

"Why wouldn’t I? What do you mean again?"

"Well, when you left, I got into a fight with some people, and got hurt. I guess I’m not good at fighting, not like you anyway. Kero where did you go?"

"Wight Here. Crunch, crunch, crunch." He said shoveling Sakura’s dinner in his mouth, "Again, Kero I was a little hungry."

"That’s what you said last time, but when I offered you some, you said no thanks." She looked out the window, "Fine it’s a good thing I’m not hungry." Li was busy thinking about what she said ‘She got in a fight with SOME people?’ He looked at her and Kero fighting and smirked ‘she’s so cute when she’s trying to be angry’ Kero stuck his tongue out at her and she looked away to find Li’s worried face, "What?"

"You got in a fight?"

"Yes, but no big deal."

"How did it happen? Why did they fight you? Who are they? How long were you in the hospital, and what exactly did they do to you?" She sighed and decided to tell him the story she hadn’t told anyone, not even Madison, "Alright it all started just after you left, I was in a pretty critical condition, I’m not gonna tell you why. Anyway the really popular snobby girls would bug me about how you were caught with another girl, made up stories about you, and even told me I couldn’t keep a boyfriend satisfied long enough they had to cheat. So I didn’t really care what they said, it’s just one day they fallowed me home and did the old ‘hide in an alley and scream to make you come running bit’ on me, I believed it and ran in there expecting to help someone and instead got the crap beet out of me, I survived with 8 stitches.."
