Rumors

Sakura roller bladed quite fast to school, her 13^th birthday was coming up soon, and Madison was having a giant birthday party for her. "Hey Sakura!" Li walked up and kissed her on the cheek *I’m getting the hang of this* "Hi Li."

"So your birthday is coming up."

"Yup."

"K so I’ll be there and so will Meiline."

"Great can’t wait." They walked to school and just made it to class, "Sorry I almost made you late Li."

"It’s ok really." She smiled and sat down.

Meiline watched as Sakura and Li walked home holding hands and nearly gaged. *I know how to split those two up* she walked up to a guy and whispered, "Li asked Meiline out last night, and they’ve been engaged to be married."

"Really?" She nodded her head and he ran off to tell people about a guy named Li and a girl named Meiline.

Sakura came to school and a few really popular girls started to laugh at her. "What are they laughing at?" Sakura whispered to Madison, "I don’t know but they are looking at you funny." Sakura walked away confused. Meiline walked into the class with a mysteriously happy grin. "Why are you so happy?"

"No reason little miss I’m so cool."

"Ya so you are coming to my birthday party right?"

"RIGHT!!" Sakura smiled and the bell rang. At recess Sakura was being fallowed by a whole crowd of people whispering. When Li walked up the guys whooped and they girls gasped like they said, "He, is going near her?" (Remember they didn’t quite say that) Sakura looked face to face and new something was up, "Ok I’ll find out." She walked into the crowd and asked a girl what she new, "Ok so why is everyone fallowing me?"

"You don’t know?" Sakura shook her head, "Well word is your man is cheating on you, and even worse engaged with her."

"What with who?"

"Some girl named Meiline or Milan or something."

"MEILINE, LI!!!!! I NEED TO HAVE A WORD WITH YOU!!" She ran over and started yelling at the top of her longs, bits and pieces of what she said were, "What were you thinking, I mean you and her, engaged? What about me? Were you thinking maybe I won’t mind? Or maybe if Meiline and everyone kept their mouth shut I wouldn’t find out?" She stomped off not caring that there was another half of the day left. When she got home her face was all red, and she was crying and she wouldn’t talk for 15 minutes, then Kero was finally able to get the story out of her. "So the kid was cheating on you with the brat girl? And they have been engaged?"

"I don’t know if the engaged part was true, but Meiline said it was true her and Li were going out behind my back, and she felt guilty." Kero flew off once she fell asleep and the first place he went was Li’s apartment. "How could he do that to Sakura? If I were that kid I would never date anyone else, I wouldn’t even think about it. And so close to her birthday." Li was looking out his window and saw Kero the sighed *Maybe I can talk some sense into Kero* "What do you think your doing hurting Sakura like that?! Her birthday is tomorrow and you decide now to cheat on her?"

"I haven’t been cheating on her. I don’t know who started that rumor, but it’s not true. I do admit Meiline’s parents and mine did arrange us to get married when we were young, but I don’t want to marry Meiline, I want to be with Sakura."

"You and the brat girl? Engaged? ^laughing^ my stomach hurts."

"I know you think it’s funny, but it’s turning Sakura against me, I’m never going to be able to ask Sakura out agin, and I was just getting the hang of being her boyfriend."

"So you mean you would never think about cheating on Sakura?"

"Nope never ever, I’ve been trying to get my parents to call of the wedding." Kero smiled at him and flew off.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~time change to after school the next day~~~~~~~~

"Sakura I need to talk to you."

"Kero told me that you and Meiline weren’t going out behind my back, but he’ll tell me anything to make me feel better, and I don’t believe him."

"But he’s telling the truth."

"When would he try to stick up for you? The only reason he ever tells nice things about you is when he tries to cheer me up."

"Bu...."

"But nothing," She starts crying, "There is no way you can tell me anything to change my mind."

"Please forgive me." She starts running towards him, he smiles and opens his arms to hug her, but she runs right by him. A tear slides down his face and he walks home.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~the next day at school~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sakura runs in late, "So Sakura you can make up for the class you missed after school, I will be expecting you and Li to be there after school. Sakura sits down and ignores Li the entire day. It was after school, and the two were sitting in their desks, "I have to go to the staff room, you two may leave at 3:00." He walked out, right away li moves to the seat in front of her and turns around, and tries to make conversation. Failing he starts to get a little angry, "What’s your problem?" She shoots her head up to look him straight in the eyes, starting quiet than getting louder slowly she starts to tell him, "Well maybe it was the fact that I heard a rumor that my boyfriend was cheating on me, or maybe it was that MY BOYFRIEND IS ENGAGED TO ANOTHER GIRL That girl just happens to hate me, or maybe it’s just that I’m a mean person who doesn’t deserve to have a boyfriend that doesn’t cheat on her!" Li was shocked, he just sat there and watched her turn around. "I-I- I didn’t know."

"Well now you do."

"Can you ever forgive me?"

"I don’t know."

"Well I need to know soon."

"Why?"

"Because I’m going back to Hong Kong in three days." She stood up, her detention was over, "Good bye Li, I hope you and Meiline are happy." and she walked out the door. For the next 2 days Sakura didn’t come to school, and when Li was waiting at the air port hoping she would come to say good bye, she never showed up. A tear slides down Li’s face as he boards. From afar you can see Sakura watching the plane leave from on top of the next building with tears falling down her face, "Good bye Li, I love you and always will."
