In Moreno Valley she spent most of her childhood in the quiet suburbs developing her artistic abilities.  In Middle school she took up playing several instruments but found that music was not her forte, though she loves it greatly.

She received her first sketchbook during freshman year of high school at the age of 13 from her first and last art teacher, Ms. Meyer.  After that she began filling its pages with creatures and people from a world locked in her mind.

She began to write small stories to go along with many of her drawings but never finished any of them.  Less then a year later, her stepfather and mother separated and Brittany moved into a small apartment in Riverside with her mother where they grew very close.  There she was humbled to the outside world and began seeing the value of things much clearer, due to financial lacking.  She then began attending a new high school and found that life was much easier. The high school is also the alma mater of her father, as well as her paternal grandparents.

She found this new life very pleasing and continued her artwork and attempted music once again with the guitar and piano but has yet to learn very much. She began painting and hung one of her pieces in the school library after winning a school contest.

During this year- long period she heard of her two new brothers’ births, who now live with separate families away from Brittany.  Another year later she moved into a small house in the midst of many small animal farms, and there she lives still at the age of 16 with only her mother.
She still attends High School and is a senior this year.  She is continuing her artwork with much vigor with hopes to eventually live up to artists such as Brian Froud and Alan Lee.

Brittany’s current hobbies are reading, drawing, socializing, swimming, watching movies, listening to music, eating, and spending time with her boyfriend, (and not in that order).   She loves all kinds of music and is entranced by anything dark and mysterious.  She is dedicated to living life to the fullest, for tomorrow could be your last day.  She plans to become a masseuse in the future because she wants people to forget unnecessary pain.  She is an extreme animal lover, yet only owns one two-year-old tortie cat named Queen Mab, whom she rescued from the animal shelter in 2003.  She spends most of her days with her head in the clouds and her feet on the ground and feels that that is the only way she could truly be happy. Happiness is, after all, the most important of goals in life.

She began her artistic voyage immediately, coming from a long line of artists and musicians.

Her parents separated when she was roughly four years old and at age five she moved to Moreno Valley, into Steven R. Lerma’s house with her mother.
Brittany A. Salley Was born in Riverside, California on October 26, 1987 to Ginger R. Chostner (now Ginger R. Lerma) and Steven C. Salley. She quickly assumed the nickname “Bert” and has used it throughout her lifetime.
Her only sister (half sister), Amy R. Chostner (now married to Jay Tankersley), had spent much of the time traveling between Washington and California, so Brittany never really grew up with any siblings.
