Great attitudes and progression is what we are all about. We do not ask anyone to break any ties or affiliations they may currently have with another unit or mess. Our roster is made up of those that commit to be part of this effort for 2-4 campaign/immersion events each year outside of your current units schedule. We have set forth some basic goals and guidelines as listed below:
-The goal is to form a committed group of quality, progressive reenactors for the events we have voted to attend as max. effort (listed on our webpage). These reenactors would be made up of men from the SE primarily. We would bring our pre-organized company/mess into the fold of any organized Campaigner Battalion that is being formed as an informal entity at each event.
- We are part of the SCAR company at most events ( www.geocities.com/scar_civilwar ) We are also sometimes do events with the First Federal Division.
The SRR has one voting representative on the SCAR Committee.
- No one is asked to leave their mainstream or umbrella unit or affiliations.
-Events would only be 4-5 max effort, immersion, compromise or adjunct events of some progressive or living history goal per year.
-COs and NCOs will have to demonstrate proper use of School of the Battalion (COs), School of the Soldier (Sgts, Cpls), Manual of Arms (all).
- NCOs would vary per event and selected prior to the events.
- SCAR event COs are voted on by the SCAR Committee and SCAR event NCOS are selected from amongst the groups by
the CO.
-All would be willing to try and build dual impressions (Federal & Confederate).
-Men should attempt to loan equipment as needed to do both impressions.
-All should embrace a NON-elitist and NON-negative attitude to all other reenactors.
- We are to lead quietly, by example.
-Follow all standards and scenario guidelines (i.e. Basic Western Fed impression, AoT impression, etc).
-Camping and gear must all be focused on the campaigning soldier (unless the event scenario calls for something else).
A suggested list of recommended gear will follow later per each scenarios guidelines.
-Focus will be western theater.
-Our name or designation would be per the scenario (i.e. Bentonville, we were Co F. 86th Ill.).
-We will focus on raising money for preservation to preserve our Civil War Battlefields.
-All would need to try their best to attend the max. effort events set forward.
-All would need to protect each other from attacks (from mainstreamers, from elitists, from naysayers, from anyone who would attack us and our efforts).
-All would commit to falling in with this company and not commit to serving with another company once committing to this effort.
-We work closely to support other authentics in the SE. We support all SCAR Max. effort events and also support their non-max. effort events. We may also work with other Authentics in the SE (GArmory Guards, ONV, WIG, PLHA, etc)
