Lots of love, the deepest bear in the world
DB Writes - Hello Guys!
I thought it was about time I introduced you properly to my team but first let's explain how they were selected. After the competition in Hawaii, where I met all the freediving greats of the world, I decided to run my own team. The aim was to choose a few people who would really make both the sport, and me, as well known as Cadburys Chocolate, Gordons Gin or maybe Gales Honey. I wanted people I could boss around, I mean train with, regularly so location became important in the selection process. I opened up the field and had to turn down some of the greats I'm afraid, as for some reason they did not live within commuting distance of Richmond Pool. Personally I think if you are a great freediver it should not be a problem to jog across your own country and swim a little bit of water to get to the pool... but anyway I digress
After much deliberation I made my decision. Team Deepest Bear 2003 IS
Samantha Kirby (my PA - I had to ask her), Tess Robins (cos she is getting really good and does a nice massage) and Simon Reid (he is pretty deep, has access to lots of gadgets and lets me ride on his sea doo).
We also have a fourth member, Spare Bear Robin Tutty should one of the others fall of their perch pre competition.
Team Deepest Bear train frequently in London pools, at HMS Dolphin and in Nice. They are still getting organised with the photos but in the meantime here is one of them about to get into Wraysbury Lake on New Years Day with a few mad friends.
Robin, Tess, Sam, Simon, Roger, Marcus, Sal - all a bit chilly!
Tess's Bio - in her own words
I took up freediving because I was told photos taken of you at depth make
you look slim. And its true, they do. Since then, I have found that
freediving complements my massage training. Smooth slick moves bring such
pleasure!
Now it is time to confess and apologise to all the great names
who applied for a place on his team.....it was a dirty trick, I know
but..........I used my kneading and muscle rolling techniques on that
lovely hairy body to win my place. It had nothing to do wth my freediving
ability.
Having said that, the Bear has been teaching me some excellent
static training techniques to make sure I hold up my end in the Team
Deepest Bear in Cyprus.

Sam's Bio
Well if you are looking at this site I kind of hope you have read mine too, but that little furry bully, I mean buddy, wants me to write more so I suppose I better.
I've been freediving ever since a mate of mine got drunk and bid at a charity auction for a freedive trydive and I had to go with her. I did kind of well and then developed a habit for swooning into the arms of hunky guys underwater. Thankfully the blackouts are now under control so I do my swooning at the party afterwards instead.
DB only picked me for the team so I would take him to Cyprus but he has so many new mates now I will probably be kicked off next year.

The rest of the Team bios and more details will be up soon (but we are keeping our performances under wraps to surprise you!)
See you all in Cyprus. DB XXXXX
