Action/Thriller-Based on Alexandre Dumas' novel of the same name, Edmund Dantes (Jim Cavizel) has just got promoted to captain of his ship, and his best friend Fernand Mondego (Guy Pearce) couldn't be happier. Or could he? After Dantes gets arrested for treason, he is sent to a horrid prison where he meets a preist (Richard Harris) who helps him escape. After that, he seeks revenge on whoever sent him to jail.
7/10-A throughly entertaining movie. Cavizel, Pearce, and Harris are good, and is exciting, not knowing what's going to come next. I have not read the book, but now it's on my to-read list.
Rated PG-13 for swordfights.
