Animated Comedy-Manny is a lonley wooly mammoth who is best left alone. After fate has Sid, a loud mouthed and lazy sloth, run into Manny, they become fast friends. At least for Sid, Manny doesn't want anything to do with Sid. Along their way up north, they meet Diego, a saber-tooth tiger who is trying to catch a baby human. Manny and Sid find it first, and grab it, taking it back to its parents. Diego comes with them, only so that his saber pals, including Soto and Zeke, can get the baby and, as an added bonus, a certain mammoth. While they continue up the mountain, they, multiple times, meet a little squirrel, Scrat (voiced by director Chris Wedge), who is trying to bury his precious acorn. As they continue up the mountain, Sid and Manny try to adapt to the tot while Diego tries to get it.

7/10-A fantasticly animated story. Blue Sky/Fox is now up against Pixar/Disney (Toy Story, Monsters, Inc.) and PDI/Dreamworks (Antz, Shrek). The animation of the main characters were stunning! The humans, on the other hand, were nothing more that mere polygons. Not as many bodily function jokes as I'd predicted, but it still had its share of 10-under crude humor. Otherwise, pretty durn funny! Scrat was unnecessary, just used as a filler. Most of his scenes were seen in the trailers. I hope to see more Blue Sky/Fox movies soon!
Rated PG for peril.
