THE KITCHEN
I hate the Kitchen the most (in real life I mean - I wish I could turn it into a doll room and eat out every night), but this particular kitchen I love - the colors are so fresh and bright - going to the extreme opposite of what it used to be in my old dollhouse.

The kitchen fittings with the bright yellow doors are Sindy 1970s range.  The fridge is the 1980s BarB fridge.  The table is made up of a piece of plastic for the top (I have no idea where this piece of plastic came from originally, but the moment we saw it, my mom and I had the idea that it would become a table at some stage in its life).  The legs are standard dowel's cut to length with a smaller dowel as the crosspiece.  The feet of the table are made from the backing plate of an air-freshener goodie.  The broom cupboard in the right back corner was made by me with some help from my dad.

The dimensions of this room are the standard 40cm from floor to ceiling and 55cm from front to back and 55cm from side to side.

It took me months to get this room to this stage.  At first I had the idea that I wanted the room have a cow print theme, and although I had gathered quite a bit of cow print stuff, I just could not bring it together to my satisfaction.  Then I saw the green and periwinkle blue and white stripe contact paper and all I could see was light green walls this paper and a border of daisies running round the room.  Then the floor suddenly became a problem for me - How was I going to treat the floor?  My mom came round and suggested the current floor design - I think the whole room finally came together in the space of two mornings (once I had finally decided on this theme, that is)

Anyway, here are some photographs for you to enjoy.
The pic above is taken to view the left side of the room.  You can see the 1970s Sindy E-Line Kitchen Units - an eye level oven with cupboards above and below, a stove unit with cupboards below (I added 2 shelves to this unit to hold pots, etc) a drawer and cupboard unit.  The Fridge is the 1980s Barbie Fridge.  The table is one I made as described above.  The seats are lids from a fabric softerner container, covered with a cushion.  The bulldog is a pencil sharpener, the black entrance mat is a cover from a car's foot pedal. The fan on top of the fridge is a magnet and the radio next to it comes from a cheap line doll accessory pack.  You can just make out a stash of liquid drink containers in the cupboard below the eye-level oven - these bottles all come from various sources.
