Basil Essential Oil

COMMENTS
Due to carcinogenc potential of basil oil, avoid using.

Basil is safe when the above ground parts
are used as a spice.
It is possibly unsafe when used in larger
amounts due to the estragole constituents.

PRECAUTION
Because basil oil is thought to
affect menstrual cycle, it should
NOT BE USED DURING PREGNANCY.
Otherwise it is safe and effective.

linalol 40-45%, methyl chavicol 23.8%,
small amounts of eugenol, limonene, and citronellol.

Powerful and Pungent
stimulating oil and used to relieve nervousness and fatigue.

Restorative qualities of basil oil
may help regulate menstruation PMS,
try massaging an oil containing basil
in circles around tummy area.
May be helpful during menopause,
do as above or drop basil oil into bath.

Drop of basil oil diluted in one tablespon
of carrier oil and gently rub into temples
to soothe headache pain.

For bad breath add a drop of basil oil
into one cup water and use as mouth wash.
