Crackers Players performing all over the South Island
Jeremy King sustained a bleeding nose on saturday during a 4 hour two-on-two streetball marathon at Jack Robins in Nelson. King was hit in the nose/top lip region by teammate Rene Smth's elbow and collapsed to the ground. He exclaimed "I'm bleeeeeeding" then dragged himself off the court and proceeded to bleed on the concrete for a period of 10 minutes before getting back on the court to complete a "first to 7 game". The situation was bitter due to Smith's comment minutes before the incident when he said to King "next, I'll break your face". Crackers management was going to investigate into the incident but decided not to because the two players involved were seen drinking hard and hitting the pokie machines at El Taverna in Richmond later on that day. King hit 65 for 100 freethrows an hour after the incident to prove he is ok and is fit to play on monday in the final streetball outing in Nelson for the holidays. Crackers are eagerly awaiting the second half of the season. Young was looking to impress the Crackers selectors after being given the chance to play but would sadly have a dissapointing game and appears to have lost his 3 point range. Ward again played improved basketball and appears to be loving the shooting role as he grabbed a double double.
