God's Promise"

We took advantage of God's gift
that he so generously hand made himself
The prices we had to pay was
the hands that we ourselves had dealt.

We turned his precious gift into
a hell we had here on earth.
Lying, cheating, mockery
and still we felt the mirth.

We scorned him, mocked him
we lived our life's of sin
The raindrops fell from heaven
were tears that were shed by him.

He watched us from his kingdom
he prayed we'd see the light
But we were blind to all his gifts
and never were contrite.

He sent his message to a man
Noah was his name.
He said that we should all repent
That God was full of shame.

Most were filled with evil
their hearts fulfilled with vanity
They swore and cursed our God
used his name in deep profanity.

Noah abided by God's wishes
A massive ark he had to build.
To save all God's believers
and those who felt the guilt.

But still no one took his warnings
of their fate that was to come
The wrath of God they did not heed
or the deaths they would succumb.

The tears from heaven began to fall
God's heart was filled with pain.
For all that he had created
was created all in vain.

For everything he'd hoped for
and all the life's that he had cherished
was deep beneath the waters
All sin had now been perished.

For forty days and forty nights.
His tears fell like pouring rain.
But Noah and his family
were safe from all the rage.

When his tears subsided
and his rathe had taken place.
He opened up the heavens
the sun, the earth embraced.

When the earth was finally desiccated
God guided Noah's Ark
To a place with new beginnings
A new life for him to start.

Noah opened up his vessel
Lift his eyes up towards the sky
Gave his praise to God Almighty
and then began to cry.

For in the midst of blue clouds
an arch of beauty shone.
A covenant sent from heaven
From God upon his thrown.

A Rainbow is what God called it
A symbol of his promise.
The rains will fall upon this land
but never will it harm us.
