"Note To Daddy"

When I was just a little girl
You came back into my life.
I remember you as a handsome man.
I admired you a lot.

The people in the neighborhood.
Respected you the most.
"He's my dad", I'd always say.
As if they couldn't tell.

As the years flew by. The little girl
grew up to be so wise.
She often could be found down stairs,
repenting in regards to arguments
pertaining to the wisdom of the learning.
The things that she beleived in.
And the principles concerning.

The memories of a life that's past.
Can't be lived again.
There's things that can't be shared today.
With family or friends.

For our memories belong to us.
We lived them our whole life.
It's what a life is made of.
And their gone the day we die.
As I stumble through the memories.
A tear falls from my eye.
The little girl that use to be.
Lives in the past, I find.

Even though we fought a lot,
I have the need to say.
I respect the man who made me wise.
And all I'm today.

I never was a weakling.
I always stood my ground.
I fought for what I beleived in.
And I'd do it all again.

My Husband says I'm stubborn.
And My tempors out of site.
But just like you,
We know it's true.
Our bark is greater
then our bite.

So all I'am,be it good or bad.
Is placed in one neat package.
It's wrapped with love.
It's glued with spit.
And fire burns with in it.

So did you know my Daddy?
All those years back then.
That I was just a replica
of the man I fought and feared.

I hope this note don't make you sad.
It's meant to make you proud.
Cause thelittle girl that wrote it.
Is the image of her Dad.

I love you Dad, I surely do.
And it gladdens me to find,
Your once again with in my life.
And not just back in time.
