Education
=========
State University of New York at Binghamton
Master of Science, Computer Science, August 2002 GPA: 3.84

Bombay University, India, Fr. C.R. College of Engineering
Bachelor of Engineering, Computer Engineering, June 1999 GPA: 3.73

Work Experience
===============
(09/2003-Present), Associate Consultant, PSL
Duties include development and support of SSL security solutions, including authentication, authorization, and SSO (Single Sign-On). Interfaces with C/C++/VB/COM/Java to provide entitlements, and transparent SSO to the user.

(08/2000-05/2002), C.S. Department, Binghamton University
Graduate Teachers Assistant
Assisted, graded assignments, addressed doubts and held office hours for CS345 Software Engg., CS373 Automata Theory & Formal Languages, CS560 Computer Graphics and CS522 Computer Architecture.

(01/2000-04/2000), 4 months, IRIS Ltd, Mumbai, India
Involved in the development of irisonline, a website that tracks and maintains financial information of Indian companies. Encompasses a huge database of companies that records company earnings, stocks, and so on. The database retrieves information for any combination of parameters. The UI is a collection of very user-friendly web pages and the database, consisting of nearly half a million records, is indexed for efficient retrieval. Designed and developed a search engine for TIFAC using the swish++ utility in LINUX. Technical Environment: Developed on LINUX using ORACLE v.8.0, PHP, OCI, MySQL.

(06/1999-12/1999), 7 months, Feedback Electronic Control Systems Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, India
Designed and developed an Inventory Control System (INCSYS). Feedback has a huge inventory of electronic components and a wide user base that checks out components. INCSYS is a completely automated system that tracks the changes effected by the deposit and withdrawal of electronic components from the inventory. INCSYS has an extremely user-friendly UI, where users are required to log in. Different user settings are maintained. Reports are printed out using Crystal Reports. The database efficiently searches for queries through a UI that hides the complexity of writing SQL queries. Technical Environment: Developed on Windows 98 using ORACLE v.7.0, VISUAL BASIC 5.0, ODBC, CRYSTAL REPORTS.

Thesis
======
Successfully completed Masters Thesis in the field of Content-Based Image Retrieval. Developed COMET, a CBIR system that retrieves color images based on semantic content, similar to the query image, from a general-purpose image database. Involves fuzzy matching of colorsets, and objects constructed from dynamically binned hue histograms.

Projects
========
MS-DOS file system manager under Linux Operating System ...
MSDOS 'FAT' file system organizer implementation in Linux environment using 'C'. Various file manipulation operations were implemented on files of different sizes on a FAT-formatted mounted floppy disk.

Ship tracking database/Personnel Management System ...
The Ship Database required extensive coding in Pro*C/Oracle for various standard database manipulations involved. The PMS was implemented in Java/Oracle under Windows environment. Java applets were used to connect to Oracle in a networked environment using a JDBC-Oracle 'thin' bridge.

Audio/Image Indexing (and Retrieval) system ...
Audio data indexing system and retrieval scheme using k-D tree structure in Java. The sound database was built with 'k' corrupted versions, after which the matching files were known by serial & tree type data structures. The scheme can find the closest 'n' number of matches, if available, for 'any' input file. A CBIR system that involves wavelet manipulations, fuzzy matching and shape moments for clusters in Visual C++.

Natural Language Systems/Cryptography/Software Engineering ...
Implemented FST's, probabilitic POS tagging, CFG parsing, and meaning representations. Implemented S-box and Inverse S-Box of the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm in Java. Implemented a complete collision avoidance package in C++ using standard Software Engineering principles.

UNIX Systems Programming / Network Programming ...
A client-server using FIFO's with the server 'daemon' processing requests using Dynamic Link Libraries. A client-'logging-daemon' server IPC using shared memory & System V semaphores. A multithreaded Web Server. SMTP mail client, using TCP/IP sockets in C/UNIX. HTTP file Server in C, which displayed files of a single user in the Unix system. A UNIX Shell simulation that permitted multiple processes to run in the background.

Computer Graphics/Computer Vision ...
Primitive algorithms, polygon filling/clipping, sprites, curves & a complete 3-D Modeling & Rendering package with translation, rotation and scaling-type transformations and a Lighting and Shading model in Visual C++/OpenGL. Implemented a 3D walk through scene with dynamic lighting, which supports Global Illumination (GI). Implemented pyramids, line fitting, edge detection, deformable contours, thinning, and global/optical flow. Reconstruction of 3D model from an image, View synthesis using two views, and Texture Synthesis.

Algorithms ...
Implemented sorting, greedy and dynamic programming applications. Used Prolog and Haskell to perform functional programming, recursion, and intensive list processing.

Awards
