SECOND LIFE
	Second Life, born in 2003, is an internet based virtual world.  Althought it was initially created by Linden Reseach, Inc. (San Francisco, CA), its users are continually developing and expanding all that this world has to offer.  Users, called avatars, can purchase objects and land using a currency that can be either be purchased or earned by spending time in Second Life. It has gained increasing popularity over the last year and now has the attention and participation of a number of businesses.  According to Wikipedia, there are over 9.8 million accounts.  It is suprising how many ways this virtual world resembles the world we live in.  For more information or to join, use the link below.
