This is what we will be tubing, right click and save to your desktop |
I am writing this using psp7, you will need to know a little about the magic wand in psp8 and psp9, I am sorry but I am of little help in that area. 1. Open graphic in psp. The first thing you need to do is check to see if your graphic has enough colors, so go to colors, increase colors 16 million (24bit), if this is bold black print, you need to click this. Now, duplicate your graphic and close original so we don't ruin it for future use. Give your new graphic a name and save your new graphic. If you don't usually use auto save, I would suggest you set it now, you don't want to go to all this work and lose what you have done. 2. Duplicate your layer, make bottom layer active and add a layer, flood it with white, add another layer, flood it with black, now turn off the bottom layer, the white layer and the black layer. 3. Make the duplicated layer active. 4. Go to colors, adjust, brightness/contrast, -42 brightness, +60 contrast, ok. 5. Duplicate this image and minimize it to use later. 6. This time we will click on the white, but we need to set our tolerance, we will try 10, feather 0. 7. Next go to selections, modify, select similar, hit the delete key and most of your white will be gone. 8. Now go back to colors, adjust, brightness/contrast and turn the brightness all the way to -255 and all your pixels remaining will turn black and you will be able to see them to get rid of any extras and fill in where there are gaps. Set your eraser to 1 to erase one pixel at a time, set your brush to 1 and black to add one pixel at a time. If you need to add a layer below the layer you are working on so you can see better, do so, just click on the bottom layer and add a layer and flood with white or whatever color suites you so you can see the black pixels. You can delete the extra layers later, or promote your tube to a new image to save it. Speaking of save, have you been doing so............ Ok, now we will try the black. 9. Activate the image we minimized earlier. set your magic want to 50, feather 0. Click on the black, if you need to magnify to be sure you are only getting the black, do so. 10. Go to selections, modify, select similar. 11. Now, you can either go back to selections, invert and delete the white.............or what I usually do is just promote to layer. Turn off the layer beneath the top layer and you should only see the black pixels remaining. Now you need to do step 8 again. When you tube, you should always double check your finished product on at least one light colored background and one dark colored background......good tubers usually check on colors in between also. I hope I have explained this so it is understandable and you can do it yourself. sandisuetoo |
