| Background 1970-1986 I was born 1970 and grew up in the coastal town of Jakobstad (Pietarsaari in Finnish), Finland. I am the youngest of three children in our family. I went to Swedish speaking compulsory school, as the area I come from is bilingual and also in my home we used both the Swedish and Finnish languages. In this way I learned the importance of mastering languages from early on. As a youngster I wasn't the brightest kid in class, as there were more urgent matters like fishing, motors and music that occupied my mind. Although as the years went by and I got to choose the directions of interest, the education seemed more worth while. I have always enjoyed sea-side activities and as a son of a fisherman I had plenty of it. From early on I got to learn to respect the sea and to handle different cause-and-effect situations that may arise. I have also, for as long as I can remember, enjoyed playing music and always had something of a talent for arts. 1987-1995 After 9 years of compulsory school I went to high school for 3 years and after that 3 years (2+1) of business studies in Vasa, Finland. My entire life I have been working alongside my studies. I have never been afraid to take on challenges so my span of duties is quite wide. Sometimes I worked as a fisherman, an other time as an interpreter, a sales clerk, building site worker, graphic artist, truck driver... you name it! This variety has thought me a whole lot about different businesses and I consider it one of my greatest assets, alongside travelling and learning to coupe in foreign cultures. 1996-date After my studies in Vasa I headed towards Sweden to study Social and Economic Geography at The University of Uppsala. Alongside my main, I also studied some IT (Geographic Information Systems), Danish, Estonian and Ecology. I also had the opportunity to study as an exchange student at the University of Oslo, Norway and Tartu, Estonia, so you might say that northern Europe has become my geographic speciality. After 4 years at the university I attended a course called Baltic Specialist, where I had the chance to get to know the area and also work and live in the Baltics. Furthermore I have developed myself by improving my computer skills with courses in multimedia and web design. Work-wise I have been keeping busy for the past few years working with marketing, sales and educating. 2001-2002 I was working in France for a fine-chemical company called Creations Couleurs. After returning home to Finland again, I have been working as a teacher in marketing, tourism, computing and law at the local college. I am always striving to learn new things and I do web design as a hobby and lately also workwise. In 2004 I begun my work as a marketing manager for FORSBERG Printhouse where I learned a lot concerning marketing communications, printing and media. I am starting up a business called TETRIX, that is importing and selling portable displays. Alongside this I am a co-founder of Blå advertising.
