"For Ten Long years"

He comes to visit her today.
Like so many times before.
And he can almost see a smile upon her face.

But then she turns her head to stare,
at a place that just ain't there.
And he bows his head, for the pain he cannot bare.

He takes her hand in his, looks upon the golden band that so many years
ago he gave to her.
Then he looks into her eyes, searches for the love that he can't find.
While her sweet sound voice echoes in his mind.

For ten long years he's held it all together.
For ten long years he's chose to love no other.
For ten long years he's lived his days alone
And for ten long years he's prayed that she'd come home.

He vows again he'll stay right by her side.
And again he'll pray to God and ask him, WHY?
He bows his head and cries as he bids one more good-bye
And he prays that she'll come home before he dies.

For ten long years he's held it all together.
For ten long years he's chose to love no other.
For ten long years he's lived his days alone
And for ten long years he's prayed that she'd come home.
