ACTIVITIES PLAN
| 1.. | Transition words | JCloze | Students have to choose the correct transition word from the word bank. Some clues are included. |
| 2. | Passive sentences I | JCloze | Students have to complete sentences using the correct verb in the correct passive voice form. The activity test vocabulary (recognition of verbs) and the passive voice structure. |
| 3. | Passive sentences II | JMix | Students unscramble words and/or chunks to form passive sentences. Good activity to practice passive voice structure. |
| 4. | JQuiz | Students have to turn the active sentence into a passive sentence. It may be difficult for some learners. I may change it if students complain. | |
| 5. | Word Families I | JQuiz | "Evaluate" is one of the key-words in chapter 4 of Looking Ahead. It is also in the academic word list. In this quiz students will be able to use the various forms of the word "evaluate". |
| 6. | Word Families II | JBC | The word "conclude" is also an important word in chapter 4. I made up some sentences based on chapter 4 of Looking Ahead. In the activity students have three choices to complete the sentence but just one is the correct. |
| 7. | Vocabulary Crossword II | JCross | This crossword is based on another text but the vocabulary is similar: eating habits. Students will be able to check their knowledge of vocabulary . |
| 8. | Vocabulary Crossword | JCross | The vocabulary in chapter 4 of Looking Ahead is basically around food. In the crossword students have access to the clues and then make better decisions. |
| 9. | Vocabulary Matching | JMatch | Students can check their vocabulary knowledge with this matching activity. The vocabulary matching activity is based on the reading "The !Kung of Kalahari". |
| 10. | Preposition Use | JBC | Prepositions are always a problem for ESL learners. In this multiple-choice activity students will have three prepositions to complete a sentence. Just one is correct. |
| 11. | Verb Tenses I | JQuiz | Verb tenses is one of the grammar topics that should be always reviewed. In this activity learners will complete sentences with the correct verb form. |
| 12. | Verb Tenses II | JCloze | In this activity students will complete the blanks with present tense or present perfect forms of verbs. Verbs is also a topic that should be reviewed. |
| 13. | Verb Tenses III | JCloze | Another activity involving verb tenses. This time learners will complete the gaps with the present tense of verbs. |
| 14. | Superlatives | JCloze | The superlatives are given. Students have to choose the best to fit the sentences. |
| 15. | Matching | JMatch | Numerical information in evaluation is one of the topics on chapter 4. In this matching activity learners will be able to check their understanding on numerical information. They match the numerical information to its meaning. |
