| "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8-9 Through grace, God made a way for us to gain righteousness-right standing with him. All that is left for us to do is to believe in the sacrifice He made-His son, Jesus Christ. If we believe that Jesus' blood cleanses us from sin and that the price He paid was enough, we are heirs to eternal life. Accepting this gift will change your life. You will no longer want to live in sin because you have been SET FREE! Sin is bondage. Just think about it: No more run-ins with the law because you have a desire to live an upright life. No more diseases and embarrassments from promiscuous sexual activity because you want to be pure. No feelings of guilt and shame over past sins because the old sinner is gone! Do not be fooled, however. It won't be easy. If you make this decision, Satan will continually seek to destroy your faith. He will try everything to tempt you and make you think that you were wrong about being saved. This is where the real test comes in... Trust in the Lord. Have faith that He will pull you through. Here is where you realize that you are not alone. God will fight your battles. Trust in Him. "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." Hebrews 11:1 |
