Now this is grace... Romans 5:6-8 "You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Imagine someone dying for you even though you hated him or mocked him. That person would really have to love you. Would you die for someone in that situation? That's exactly what Jesus did. As we sinned against His Father, Jesus was looking ahead and seeing our need for forgiveness. In this situation, grace would be facing a judge knowing that we had committed a crime, yet the judge says, "Not Guilty." The only difference between those who have been pardoned and those who have not is that the pardoned admits their guilt and faces the threat of punishment (only to be excused). The unpardoned refuses to admit guilt, fights to remain free, but ends up paying the penalty ALONE. No one stands up for him. Isn't it wonderful to know that you can have a defense attorney? And better yet, One who has never lost a case? Every person that His blood has covered has been found not guilty. Not one drop has failed to fulfill its task. What about you? Are you ready to face the judge? What will he say? Not guilty?.... .....or..... ......GUILTY...... |
"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand." Romans 5:1-2 God's gift of grace allows us to stand righteous before Him. His Son has become our sin, and we have become righteous. Wow! What freedom! But what, really, is grace? |
