A day like any other-
Yet one I can’t forget:
One that would end in tranquil peace-
Or in pangs of deep regret.

A highway I had traveled
So many times before
Became the place of tragedy
When my car turned and left the road.

“God would not take me this way,”
I thought to myself, “I’ll survive.”
But in an instant when all was revealed,
I knew in my heart I would die.

I cried to the Lord in whom I’d believed,
“Jesus!” was all I could say.
Nothing else mattered-not my fortune or fame-
Faith alone mattered on that day.

I woke, as it had all been a dream-
But the message is clear and true.
When you’re in the valley of the shadow of death,
Which God will answer you?

I had this dream in February, 2001.
