The Sharks held the 9th overal pick in the PHL Entry draft and selected Ottawa 67's centreman Logan Couture. The 6-foot, 188lbs centreman put up great numbers this year with his Jr. team, the 67's while being plagued with mono for much of the season. In 54 games he scored 26 goals, along with 52 helpers for a 78 point season. The Sharks are thrilled they added a player with his skill set to the team this year. Logan talked with Sharks media and had this to say: "Im thrilled to joing such a great organization. They stuggled a little this past season, but the pieces are in places for this team to be a contender in the next few seasons and for years to come, and I hope to be a part of that someday. This team had a great young core on defence, and some solid young forwards up front that I look forward to play with someday." To make room for Couture on San Jose's 40 man roster the team dropped forward Anton Axelsson from Sweeden. |
