Another fugitive on
the run from his past. Such the cliché, really. Yet
somehow, different. Unlike those whose souls become hardened by
turmoil, this one stayed amazingly the same. Always the
gentleman, if not overly so. Opening doors, offering his seat in
a crowded room. Even the kissing of the knuckles that was so
overdone. Manners were well kept despite the transfer from royal
to pauper, all be it a pauper with some very nice clothing. Rags
to riches reversed, eh? Well, close enough. Once satin
skin was soon to be roughened by working odd jobs and constantly
traveling, body slowly making itself immune to what nature could
offer. Be it extreme heat or cold, rainstorm or thunder, he had
dealt with it. Ah...but that itself is all too common it would
seem...
Once a crowned prince and very soon to be King of a land whose name he'll not speak, life had been, to put it simply, perfect. Everything had run so smoothly throughout his life, and years passed without a hitch, with no fear of war. Eventually, however, the inevitable came. In the shadows one had been plotting, and once peaceful country was soon torn between heaven and hell, right and wrong. There was none who would win this battle...both sides went down in flames, so to speak, and very few survivors were left. The prince was one of them. So...why didn't he stay to rebuild what his father had cherished so...? Another survivor; the treacherous beast that had started it all. No surprise, really, that he was the man in charge of leading what was said to be a useless army. He was a man sick of the peace, sick of the calm lives all of them had led. Teacher, mentor -he was the one who had taught a young Aleron to swing a sword. It should have been expected. After all...what fun could a man who thrived on fighting have during times of peace? So back to the story at hand. Betrayed, with parents and life gone, the traitor was sought out and, of course, challenged. We won't say that a fierce battle raged for hours...because that would be a lie. Both teacher and pupil were weary, though one was slightly less so, and it wasn't long before one fell. The prince had lost....though by some sick twist of fate, was allowed to live, only to have to flee. One day, however...he would return....if he wasn't found first. Refuge was found in RhyDin, a place overrun with idiots, whores, and everything in-between. It was a far cry from what he was used to, indeed....but it would be dealt with. There was no other choice....
