My Response to
Requests or Questions
Nov. 5, 2003
I have received two requests to post pictures of people with lupus.  I am not quite sure how to respond to this request.  When it comes to this webpage I do my best to put up what people ask for.  In this case I am not sure what to do.  There seems to be the belief that people with lupus look different from people without lupus.  That you could pick out which person has lupus from a line up.  This just is not true.  I have been diagnosed with lupus for seven years now and no one knows that I am sick at all, unless I tell them.  We do not look any different that anyone else.  Lupus can attack anyone of any race at any age.  I do not think that it is right to look at someone and think lupus.  As human beings we are one and should not be thought of by a disease that we have.  Yet, perhaps it is good to show that.  I think that I will make my next poll on this issue.  If people want to email me pictures of someone that has lupus and someone that does not I will make a poll that tests to see if you can tell who has lupus or not!
